Mi 11X 5G

Overall Best Pick

  • Flagship chipset – Snapdragon 870 5G
  • Decent camera performance
  • 120Hz high-resolution AMOLED panel

33W fast charging support

Side-mounted fingerprint sensor

X-axis linear vibration motor

No dedicated 3.5mm audio jack

This phone from Xiaomi is rebranded for the third time after its initial launch – in other regions this smartphone is named as Redmi K40 and POCO F3.

In India, it is known as MI 11X. This smartphone is a performance beast for the asking price of Rs.29,999. Let’s find out what this has to offer at this price!

Design and Build Quality

The MI 11X has a premium build quality with a familiar glass sandwich design. This device comes in three different colours to choose from.

Being a glass back smartphone, the backside is highly reflective. It is easy to smudge this device with your fingerprints, so using it with a case is advised.

The device is 7.8mm thin and it weighs somewhere around 196 grams but does not feel much heavy in the hand or inside pant pockets.

The X-axis linear motor inside this phone provides excellent haptic feedback to the touches and taps.

Even though this device comes with an OLED display, it doesn’t have the in-display fingerprint scanner but instead, has the sensor located on the side-mounted power button.

As usual, the IR blaster is given at the top and alongside it, there is a noise cancellation mic as well as the speaker grille.

Yes, this device has dual stereo speakers that produce a loud clear sound with audible vocals and punchy bass.

Speaking of ports, there is no audio jack but a converter (USB-C to audio jack) is available inside the box.

The MI 11X features a 6.67-inch 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The panel has a 360Hz touch sampling rate which means whenever you perform a touch gesture on the panel it will respond quickly compared to the standard 60Hz panel.

Thanks to the peak brightness level of 1300 nits, the display is convenient to use indoors as well as under direct sunlight.

The punch-hole size cutout on the front is very small and the bezels from all sides are also minimal which gives you an immersive wide viewing experience on content consumption.

The colours look punchier with inky deep blacks and with a theoretically infinite contrast ratio.

Processor and Performance

The MI 11X is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core SoC designed on 7-nm architecture.

The 6GB LPDDR5 RAM inside this smartphone will provide a buttery smooth performance when it comes to everyday usage and multitasking.

You can play all the modern games on this device at high graphics settings without any issues whatsoever.

The 128GB UFS 3.1 storage will help enhance the device overall performance such as the minimal application loading time and faster data transfer speeds.

The MIUI 12 developed on top of Android 11 OS is what you get to use out of the box.

The MI 11X houses a triple lens in the rear consisting of a 48MP main lens, 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lens.

The photos from the main sensor come out balanced, we’d say. A little more colour accuracy is desirable with the greens but that can be easily fixed via a future software update.

Surprisingly, macro photography is great on this device but this lens is rarely used by normal users.

The ultrawide lens can click photos with a 120-degree wide field of view and the final results are satisfactory.

In the camera module at the back, there is a dedicated microphone and it activates when you record videos so if you’re into starting a content creation then it will be helpful.

The 20MP front shooter clicks sharp and clear images. The portrait selfies photos look nice and detailed enough for social media usage.

Battery Life

The MI 11X has a 4520mAh battery inside that will last up to a day with medium to heavy use.

The bundled 33W fast charger will take less than one and a half hours to recharge the battery fully.

The MI 11X comes with a premium build quality and offers commendable performance for the asking price of Rs.29,999.

If you are looking for a performance smartphone with a great display then MI 11X is where your search ends.

No glass back

Realme is on a roll releasing new devices every month to compete with Redmi neck and neck.

The X series smartphone lineup from Realme is an answer to the budget and upper mid-range smartphones from Xiaomi.

The Realme X7 Max is one of the newest releases from the X series stable powered by the 5G capable MediaTek Dimensity processor available to purchase for just Rs.27,680.

Design and Build Quality

Hands down for the design, after almost 6-month of teasing, Realme has shown up with a new design, and to be honest, it’s impressive.

However, the back is still made out of polycarbonate material which does not feel cheap but a glass back would have made the phone felt premium.

The rear side has a mix of matte and glossy finish. The reflective finish houses the camera module and the branding of Realme with its logo now settled in a small box instead covering the entire back panel area.

The curved sides provide a nice grip to the hands and talking about its usability, the device weighs just 179 grams and it feels comfortable in hands.

Realme has tried its best to provide a flagship-level experience. This device has an in-display fingerprint scanner that is very responsive.

The Realme X7 Max 5G features a 6.43-inch 120Hz Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This display is protected by Dragontrail Glass so the display remains safe from scratches and can survive the accidental falls.

The colour reproduction of this display is vivid and punchy. Being an OLED panel, the blacks are inky deep with an excellent contrast ratio.

Thanks to the impressive 90.1% screen to body ratio, the media consumption experience is delightful, to say the least.

The 120Hz refresh rate makes everything looks buttery smooth including the visuals and the UI animations. Not just that, the Realme X7 Max 5G comes with an enhanced 360Hz touch sampling rate for instantaneous touch response. This will prove highly beneficial for those who game a lot on their smartphones.

Everything on this display will work buttery smooth as it has a high refresh rate not only that but it has a massive 360Hz touch sampling rate so the display will respond much faster to touch and it will be beneficial in gaming as well.

This panel has a peak brightness of 1000 nits which makes it usable both indoors and outdoors effortlessly.

Processor and Performance

The Realme X7 Max 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC which is the latest iteration in the Dimensity series.

Dimensity 1200 is capable of giving head to head competition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset.

This device offers a flagship-level performance under Rs.30,000, and with the 8GB RAM onboard you can perform everyday tasks or do multitasking without facing any lag.

If you know anything regarding gaming, we would like you to know that you can run any Android game on this device at 60fps.

The 128GB UFS 3.1 storage adds more to the performance – it helps loading apps and games faster and it will reduce the boot-up time significantly.

The Realme X7 Max 5G comes pre-installed with the Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS.

The Realme X7 Max 5G has a triple rear camera consisting of a 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor.

From the previous model Realme X7 Pro, this one is short of one lens which is fine but the disappointing part is that they have downgraded the camera.

Instead of providing a Sony IMX686 sensor or above, the brand has provided an IMX682 sensor that takes decent photos.

In daylight conditions, the photos come out clear from the primary camera and the image has enough sharpness, dynamic range, and details but the colours are a bit on the softer side.

In low-lit conditions, the camera takes decent photos and the details in the photo can be identified easily. We don’t say it’s pathetic but compared to Realme X7 Pro, the camera performance is a little weak.

The ultrawide performs well in broad daylight and with the use of a macro sensor, you can take pictures of an object from a 4cm distance.

The 16MP selfie camera takes bright and sharp photos, in high artificial light the dynamic range is not good but it will be improved within software updates.

Battery Life

The Realme X7 Max 5G is powered by a 4500mah lithium battery that provides a screen on time up to 10-12 hours with normal to heavy use.

The bundled 65W charger will juice up the smartphone battery from 0 – 100% in less than an hour.

The Realme X7 Max 5G is the first smartphone to be released in the Indian market with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor and to be honest, currently, in the market, this is the only phone that can give tough competition to flagship smartphones in terms of performance.

  • Up to 180Hz touch sampling rate
  • MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset
  • Gorgeous Super AMOLED display

50W fast charger

Thin and lightweight design

No high refresh rate

Oppo F19 Pro+ 5G is the recently released premium mid-range Android smartphone that stacks up against the similarly priced smartphones from Redmi, Realme, and Vivo.

Priced just around Rs.25,000 in the Indian market, the Oppo F19 Pro+ offers a reasonable mix of features, powerful performance, and build quality.

Design and Build Quality

The design of this smartphone is very minimalistic. It has a mirror back with a trendy camera module design and the minimal branding of OPPO at the bottom right.

The F19 Pro+ is one of the best-looking smartphones in its segment, period. Weighing at just 173g, this slim and lightweight smartphone is a delight to use with a single hand.

Unlike other smartphones, the volume rockers on this device are located on the left frame and the right frame houses the power button.

We almost forgot to tell you that the camera bump is a little high so make sure to put a case cover on the device otherwise the device will not rest properly on the flat surfaces.

Since this is a device with an AMOLED display, the fingerprint scanner is tucked underneath the panel, similar to that of many other smartphones in this segment.

The Oppo F19 Pro+ features a 6.42-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This display has a pixel density of 409ppi, making the visuals and text look sharp and detailed.

This AMOLED panel has excellent colour reproduction and the peak brightness level of 800 nits makes it comfortable for you to use outdoors.

One thing to note here is that this is a standard 60Hz panel. However, the touch sampling rate is 180Hz which ensures good click response during normal use as well as gaming.

Processor and Performance

What runs the show on Oppo F19 Pro+ is MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G octa-core CPU clocked at 2.4GHz.

This is a 5G ready smartphone however, the Indian infrastructure is about to adapt to the 5G network which will probably take a year or two so having 5G will be considered as an add-on facility.

Back to the performance, the device has an 8GB LPDDR4x RAM that will provide fluent performance on everyday use and is capable of handling multitasking without any problem.

The built-in 128GB UFS 2.1 storage will be sufficient for storing documents, photos, and videos.

Out of the box, the Oppo F19 Pro+ comes pre-installed with the ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11.

The ColorOS is getting well-optimized day by day and the UI works flawlessly.

The Oppo F19 Pro+ has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The photos captured from the primary camera look well balanced with good colour saturation, and ample details.

The macro lens is above average and the depth sensor performs well while clicking portrait photos.

There is an AI night mode in video and to be honest, it takes very good videos at night.

The AI on this device is probably the best and you can also see views taken from the rear camera and front camera at once, it’s the same feature introduced in Samsung flagship S21 series as a director’s view.

The 16MP front shooter takes remarkable selfie photos. The colour reproduction is on par with enough details and sharpness.

Battery Life

The Oppo F19 Pro+ is powered by the 4310mAh lithium polymer battery that will last about a day if used normally for calling, multimedia applications, and social media.

The 50W fast charger will level up the battery percentage from 0-100 in less than an hour.

The Oppo F19 Pro+ is one of the best all-rounder performers in its price segment.

This smartphone delivers a good performance on gaming, daily use as well as on-camera and videography.

  • Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS
  • Smooth 90Hz FHD+ display

Attractive design

Good for single-handed usage

No ultrawide lens

Realme is one of the first brands to release an affordable 5G smartphone in India among others.

Realme 8 5G offers a good battery life and performance for the asking price of just Rs.16,999.

Design and Build Quality

Realme 8 5G shows some significant improvements in design and aesthetics. This smartphone reminds us of the premium Vivo devices.

Starting with the build, the back panel and the middle frame of this smartphone are made using plastic material yet it feels nice in hand.

The glossy back of this smartphone is a fingerprint magnet so make sure to put a case on it if you want your smartphone to look pristine.

The camera module at the rear looks like it has four lenses but it’s only three and the bump protrudes out from the chassis which is another reason why you should put a case cover on it.

This device features a modern USB-C cable for quick data transfer and fast charging. There is an audio jack at the bottom in line with the speaker grille.

The power button on the side doubles up as a fingerprint magnet, which is positioned at a very comfortable location where your fingers will naturally rest upon.

The Realme 8 5G features a 6.5-inch 90Hz Full HD+ punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Thanks to the higher refresh rate, the app’s open-close animation look fluid and the gaming experience is a delight with compatible gaming titles.

This FHD+ panel has a good colour reproduction and contrast ratio, making the visuals look natural and appealing to the eyes.

The minimal bezels around the display help it to achieve an impressive 90.5% screen to body ratio which means you will have more display area for an immersive visual experience altogether.

Processor and Performance

What runs the show on Realme 8 5G is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core processor. It is a 5G enabled chipset that lets you experience a superfast internet connection if and when it is available to the public in India.

This SoC is designed on 7-nm architecture and is one of the best power-efficient processors at the price of Rs.20,000.

You will face no heating issues or lag while playing games or using the smartphone for multitasking activities.

This device has 8GB RAM that is capable of executing various tasks at once without breaking a sweat.

The 128GB UFS 2.1 storage helps to load the apps quickly and with impressive data transfer speeds.

The Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 is what you get on this smartphone. The Realme UI now has ads as well which is quite irritating but the overall UI works smoothly.

The Realme 8 5G features a triple camera setup at the back in which you will find a 48MP main sensor accompanied by the 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensor.

There is no ultrawide sensor on this smartphone which feels like a letdown as many of you like to use it frequently for capturing wide-angle photos.

Speaking of the main 48MP camera, it takes really good photos in daylight conditions. The images look vivid with enough details and sharpness.

The depth sensor helps you blur the background while taking portrait mode photos and the edge detection remains accurate in most use cases.

The macro lens takes average photos and photos taken at night (while using night mode) have grains and noise.

The 16MP selfie camera requires improvement as when you take photos the colours look soft and the sharpness in the photos does not meet the expectations.

Battery Life

The Realme 8 5G is powered by a 5000mAh battery and it easily lasts for an entire day with moderate to heavy usage on a single charge.

The 18W bundled charger will take almost 2 hours to juice up the battery from 0 – 100%.

The Realme 8 5G is said to be a balanced phone in the Realme 8 series, it has a great mix of performance and attractive design that caters to a regular user.

5. IQOO Z3 5G

Performance-oriented Smartphone

  • 120Hz IPS LCD
  • Snapdragon 768G processor
  • Android 11 OS

Side fingerprint sensor

55W fast charging

Features headphone jack

No AMOLED panel

iQOO is a Chinese smartphone company that was formed as a subsidiary of Vivo but now it has become independent from Vivo and markets smartphones under its brand.

The iQOO Z3 5G is the latest mid-range smartphone by the company and it retails for Rs.20,990 in the Indian market.

Build and Design

The iQOO Z3 5G is another addition to the mid-range smartphone market in India. We had previously reviewed their iQOO 3 smartphone as well which was a banger.

When it comes to the build and design of the iQOO Z3 5G, this smartphone has a polycarbonate construction to keep the cost low. The frame and back of the smartphone are made from polycarbonate plastic.

Also present in the rear is the triple camera setup which is pretty decent, it looks similar to the setup of most smartphones that are currently in the market.

The side of the iQOO Z3 5G features the volume rocker and the power button which doubles as the fingerprint sensor.

The beloved 3.5mm headphone jack also makes a return on the smartphone.

Under the hood of the iQOO Z3 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G. The iQOO Z3 5G is the first phone in India to feature this chipset.

For gaming, this smartphone is equipped with the Adreno 620 GPU which should provide you with a smooth gaming experience. You won’t have any trouble running games on the smartphone.

Furthermore, this smartphone runs on the Android 11 operating system with the Funtouch 11.1 UI skin by iQOO.

When it comes to RAM and storage this smartphone has 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.

Overall the experience of the iQOO Z3 5G is smooth and enjoyable.

The iQOO Z3 5G does not feature an AMOLED display and instead, the smartphone features an IPS LCD which has a fluid refresh rate of 120Hz.

Thanks to the 120Hz fluid refresh rate you can enjoy games the way they are meant to be played.

One of the drawbacks of the IPS LCD panel is that the colour accuracy is not as vibrant and accurate as an AMOLED panel.

The panel of the IQOO Z3 5G supports HDR10. Since it is an LCD panel, there is no always-on support for this smartphone as well.

The iQOO Z3 5G sports a triple camera setup in its rear and a waterdrop notch in the front for the selfie camera.

The sensors on the rear include a 64 MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2 MP macro. In its front is the 16MP selfie shooter.

When it comes to image quality, the iQOO Z3 5G is quite impressive for the price. Images taken by the camera appear good. But there is also some softening present when taking pictures in portrait mode.

This smartphone is also capable of recording videos at 4K 60 fps which is quite nice. There is no OIS on the smartphone but we do get EIS.

Battery Life

The iQOO Z3 5G smartphone is equipped with a 4400mAh Li-polymer battery that should give you a day’s charge during normal usage.

The smartphone also has support for 55W fast charging and you get the charger for the smartphone in the box unlike some other smartphones these days.

The iQOO Z3 5G is a gaming smartphone that is well worth the price you pay. The new Snapdragon chipset is impressive and should provide you with excellent performance.

6. Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G

Best Versatile Smartphone

  • Powerful MediaTek CPU
  • High refresh rate FHD+ panel
  • Fast charging support

Decent speaker quality

Intuitive Realme OS UI

Elegant design

No dedicated SD card slot

Realme is a budget smartphone brand spun off from Oppo to compete directly with the Redmi range of smartphones.

The original Narzo series was launched as an ultra-affordable gaming smartphone but with disappointing internals. The all-new Narzo 30 Pro is here with some significant improvements.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro has a plastic build that is sturdy but since it has a glossy finish it attracts fingerprints quite easily.

This device is relatively large in comparison and weighs around 196g. You might find it a bit uneasy at first but will get used to it in a few days.

Unlike the Realme X7, the Narzo 30 Pro features a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio output via earphones and headphones

The fingerprint sensor on this device can be found overlapped with the power button, which is one of the latest trends in budget smartphones with LCDs.

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro features a 6.5-inch 120Hz Full HD+ punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

With an ample 405ppi pixel density, the visuals and text appear sharp and detailed.

The 120Hz refresh rate makes the UI feel butter smooth while scrolling. With supported games, you can enjoy this enhanced refresh rate for butter-smooth visuals and transitions.

The bezels around the display are narrower, offering an impressive screen to body ratio for an immersive media consumption experience.

The colours appear natural and the contrast ratio is commendable for an LCD. With a maximum brightness of 480nits, indoor legibility is not an issue.

Processor and Performance

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro packs the MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G processor which we discussed with the Realme X7 smartphone.

This 5G ready processor handles resource-intensive tasks such as gaming and multitasking like a champ without any lags or stutters.

The 8GB LPDDR4X RAM on board is more than sufficient to keep the apps in the memory for quick retrieval.

The 128GB UFS2.1 storage lets you store a lot of files onboard without running out of space that easy.

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera followed by an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens.

The rear camera performs exceptionally well in natural light conditions. The colours and details are on par with other similarly priced smartphones.

The ultrawide shooter captures pictures with a wider field of view without significant degradation in the quality, provided that the lighting conditions are favourable.

There is a dedicated night mode in the camera app that will let you take decent looking night shots with bright subjects but with considerable noise.

The Realme Narzo Pro 30 features EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for smoothing out the shakes and jitters during video capture and does a good job at that.

The 16MP selfie camera works fine under good lighting conditions. The skin tone looks natural and the colours are preserved to an extent.

Battery Life

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro is powered by a 5000mAh battery that will last easily for a day of heavy usage with 120Hz refresh rate mode.

The bundled 30W dart charger manages to juice up the battery from zero to a hundred within 1.30 hours.

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro is a feature-packed smartphone with a high refresh rate display and future-ready 5G connectivity at just Rs.20,000.

Average audio quality

If you are searching for a 5G smartphone under Rs.14,000 then Poco M3 Pro 5G is the best you can buy as of now.

The Poco M3 Pro 5G is an affordable 5G smartphone offering smooth performance and sturdy build quality at the price of Rs.13,999.

Design and Build Quality

The Poco M3 Pro 5G has gorilla glass on the front and the back is made out of plastic. The overall build quality is sturdy and reliable for rough use.

The shining yellow back with an addition of black colour gives this smartphone an aggressive look.

Weighing at 190 grams, the device is convenient to use with a single hand and does not feel much hefty while resting in pant pockets.

Talking about the physical appearance of the smartphone, the top frame has an IR blaster, audio jack, and a secondary noise-cancelling mic.

The right frame has a fingerprint sensor doubled with the power button. Moving to the bottom, there is a USB-C port and a speaker grill.

This smartphone design makes it look stand out from its competitors and feels premium in hands.

The Poco M3 Pro 5G sports a 6.5-inch 90Hz Full HD+ punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The panel has a balanced contrast ratio but the blacks are not deep which is expected considering the price.

The high refresh rate makes everything smooth when you operate the display and with the DynamicSwitch refresh rate, the battery will last longer.

The Dynamic switch means it adjusts the refresh rate according to the user so if you lock the phone and do not use it the refresh rate will be reduced to 30Hz.

The media consumption experience will be amazing, thanks to the minimal bezels on the sides.

The display brightness is sufficient for indoor and outdoor use.

Processor and Performance

The Poco M3 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC designed on 7-nm architecture.

With the 4GB RAM onboard, you will face no lag or stutter in your everyday use and performance remains fluent on multitasking.

You can play high-end games smoothly without facing too many frame drops and the 2D games run buttery smooth.

The 64GB UFS 2.2 storage has excellent read and write speed which results in faster app loading and from the storage perspective, you can store files and media here.

The MIUI 12 based on Android 11 OS is what you get to use and the UI runs jitter-free but there are lots of ads and bloatware which makes the user experience quite annoying.

The Poco M3 Pro 5G has a triple rear camera which includes 48MP primary camera, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

The main sensor of this smartphone takes decent photos. The images are sharp and detailed but the colour looks soft and the skin tone brightens up in artificial light.

The macro sensor is good if you like taking close-up shots and the depth sensor helps to click nice portrait shots.

You can use other photography modes to improve the quality of photos.

The 8MP selfie camera takes decent photos in daylight conditions. You can even record videos in high-definition resolution from the front camera.

Battery Life

The Poco M3 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh lithium battery inside that will provide a screen on time up to an entire day.

The 18W bundled charger will recharge the battery from 0 – 100% in 2 hours.

The Poco M3 Pro 5G is the best performance-oriented smartphone at the price of Rs.15,000.

The device offers better battery life, performance and features a high refresh rate display.

A bit overpriced

Oppo is yet another subsidiary of BBK electronics which manufactures smartphones and related accessories.

The Oppo A74 5G is a budget 5G smartphone that is designed for regular users who just need to accomplish their day to day tasks.

Design and Build Quality

Oppo smartphones are known for their modern and appealing design and with the A74 5G, the brand has proven itself again.

The rear panel has a glossy back that shines when the light source hits it and one piece of advice from our side, put a case cover as the back is prone to smudges.

Weighing at 190 grams, this device feels comfortable to use with a single hand and it does not feel heavy in the pockets.

There is a USB-C port and an audio jack at the bottom section of the frame. The power button is on the right and the volume rockers are positioned on the left side.

The curved sides at the back give a tight grip to the hands so the device will not slip when you use it.

The three lenses at the back are housed in a rectangular box that has curved edges and other than this module, the device has a minimal branding of Oppo in the bottom right corner.

Due to its minimalist design, the device feels and looks premium in the hand.

The Oppo A74 5G sports a 6.5-inch 90Hz Full HD+ LTPS punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Thanks to minimal bezels of the display which helps achieve an impressive 90.5% screen to body ratio.

This panel has a pixel density of 405-PPI and the visuals, as well as the text, appears sharp and clean without any sort of pixelation whatsoever.

Having a 90Hz refresh rate in a mid-range smartphone is a desirable feature to have. You will notice butter-smooth animations in day to day usage and won’t go back to a standard 60Hz panel afterwards once you get used to it.

What’s more, this panel has a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz for accurate touch response.

Processor and Performance

The Oppo A74 5G comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G octa-core chipset designed on 8-nm architecture.

You might think that this processor isn’t that powerful but this CPU is coupled with the 6GB RAM to provide a swift performance on day to day use.

The GPU performance of this smartphone is similar to that GPU which is paired with the Snapdragon 720G processor.

To put it simply, you can do gaming at medium settings and multitasking without facing any lag.

The 128GB UFS 2.1 storage in this smartphone lets you store your files and documents. Furthermore, it will help elevate the performance of this smartphone by opening applications in minimal time.

This device runs on the latest Android 11.0 OS with Oppo’s ColorOS 11.1 on top. Thankfully, there are no annoying ads but you do get some pre-installed junk which you can uninstall if you want to.

The Oppo A74 5G has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, 2MP macro, and 2MP mono sensor.

The main lens takes good photos with balanced colours and rich details.

The macro lens on this device is a bit finicky and just returns average quality stills.

We are missing the ultrawide lens. Instead, Oppo has provided a mono lens which can be useful if you like taking black and white photos with a good amount of finer details.

The portrait photos need to be improved in sharpness.

The 8MP front-facing camera takes decent photos, the portrait selfies have the same issue as the rear camera, it also lacks sharpness and the skin tone looks a bit more artificial.

Battery Life

Powered by the 5000mAh battery, this smartphone can last you about an entire day with normal to heavy use like gaming, social media, calling, and multimedia.

The bundled 18W charging brick will help you juice up the battery levels from zero to full within a couple of hours.

The Oppo A74 5G is one of the best budget 5G smartphones for a budget under Rs.20,000. If you are looking for a good-looking device with excellent everyday performance then this smartphone is for you.
