These high-quality switches on this gaming keyboard are rated to last up to 70 million keystrokes.

These are not the regular Cherry MX switches but Opane-mechanical blue switches, which offer almost the same accuracy and tactile feedback as that of the former.

The bottom section of this gaming keyboard houses rubber pads and foldable legs for an elevated and comfortable typing posture.

Like any other gaming keyboard out there, the HP Omen Sequencer supports RGB LED lighting effects. These effects can be customized according to your personal preference with the help of the Omen command centre software.

The 2m long connecting cable is braided and has enough thickness to last a while, even with intense rough usage.

Performance

The performance of the Sequencer is praiseworthy as expected from a pure mechanical keyboard.

Mechanical keyboards are often hailed as the gold standard for premium gaming as well as typing experience as opposed to the normal membrane keyboards.

This gaming keyboard has a 1000Hz polling rate with 0.2ms of response time. This makes the keyboard a fit for fast-paced and competitive games.

4. Logitech G 613

logitech-g-613
Wireles Gaming Keyboard
  • Wireless mechanical gaming keyboard
  • 18 months of battery life
  • Omron co-developed Romer G switches

We have already reviewed a Logitech keyboard in this article but this product – the Logitech G613 is different.

Why may you ask?

That’s because the Logitech G613 is a wireless mechanical keyboard. Rarely do we find wireless gaming keyboards but Logitech has not only given us a wireless gaming keyboard but one with full-fledged mechanical switches as well.

This wireless gaming keyboard retails for a budget just under Rs.7,500 in the Indian market.

Build and Design

The build quality of the Logitech G613 keyboard is pretty standard, to be honest. It features a steel backplate with the rest of the body made from high-quality hard plastic materials.

The Logitech G613 has an integrated wrist rest module which makes it comfortable to use for longer periods at a stretch.

However, this isn’t a detachable one so it can’t be removed at will. This may be a concern for those with limited table space.

The keyboard is relatively large and features a dedicated numeric pad to the right side.

The one most important thing the Logitech G613 gaming keyboard lacks is the RGB LED backlight.

There is no RGB lighting anywhere on the G613, the reason for this is to save battery as RGB lighting would decrease the battery life of the keyboard by a long margin.

The legends on the keys are not really that accurate and most of the legends are misaligned and they also fade off easily. This is not something that one would expect from such an expensive gaming keyboard.

This premium wireless gaming keyboard comes with dual connectivity onboard. You can either connect via Bluetooth or the wireless receiver.

This lets you connect two devices at once with the keyboard – say smartphone via Bluetooth and the laptop via the wireless receiver.

The keyboard comes along with an additional phone stand so you can seamlessly switch between the phone and PC.

Performance

The Logitech G613 wireless keyboard performs as efficiently as a wired mechanical keyboard.

The switches on the keyboard are the popular tried and tested Romer G switches which are co-created with Japanese switch manufacturer Omron. These high-quality keys provide you with great typing as well as a gaming experience.

Being a wireless keyboard, there is no latency in input while gaming which is a tremendous job done by Logitech.

You get a 1ms report rate, which means they are as good as a traditional wired keyboard.

The keyboard features dedicated media keys and macro keys that can be programmed upon personal preference using the Logitech software.

The media keys let you do functions like changing the volume, play, skip, etc without having to exit from the game. This is useful when you listen to music while playing games.

The 6G keys on the keyboard can be assigned macro functions. You can assign a sequence of presses to a single button which will give you a definite tactical advantage over your in-game enemies.

You also can disable the keys which you don’t want to use. This is particularly helpful in cases such where you have the habit of accidentally pressing function keys such as the windows key on the keyboard that will disrupt your gaming.

Battery Life

The Logitech G613 gaming keyboard is powered by 2AA batteries and in the battery compartment, you also get a slot to keep the wireless receiver when it’s not in use.

Logitech claims the G613 keyboard will last for up to 18 months with a single set of battery but expect this number to be much less when it comes to real-world usage.

Verdict

If you are in search of a wireless gaming keyboard with mechanical switches, the Logitech G613 is a great choice.

The lack of RGB lighting is a bit disappointing but if you can trade it for the lack of wires, this is a solid choice.

There’s also the standard Windows key lock ability which allows you to disable the Windows key while gaming so you don’t accidentally press the button and minimize your games.

Dedicated media keys are available on the Corsair K55 keyboard so you can increase or decrease the volume without having to minimize your games.
