1. Asus ROG Phone 3

Overall Best Pick
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ flagship processor
  • Two Type C USB ports for charging and accessories
  • Dual Air triggers for quick controls

We are all familiar with the ROG series gaming laptops from Asus. With the ROG phone Asus has brought some of the industry-leading mobile gaming technology over to the smartphone market, consolidating its position as a premium smartphone gaming brand.

The ROG Phone 3 is Asus’s flagship gaming phone which is one of the most advanced smartphones in the market that is built specifically with gaming in mind.

Build and Design

The ROG Phone 3 has still maintained the gamer accents found in its predecessors albeit they are a bit toned down.

This gaming-centric smartphone has an aluminium frame with a gorilla glass back. In the rear section, there are the camera bump, exposed heatsink, and ROG logo with Aura RGB lighting.

The lighting on the logo can be customized and it also doubles as a notification LED.

On the side of the phone, you will find two air triggers which is something you don’t usually find on normal phones. This feature lets you assign key gaming functions to the air triggers.

The phone is a bit bulky and on the heavier side which is not a surprise considering the features it comes loaded with.

But there is one important feature that the ROG Phone 3 lacks and that is a headphone jack. We wished that Asus has included one for obvious reasons but it is what it is.

Asus has done away with the headphone jack on the ROG Phone 3 and it has been criticized by many since this is a gaming phone. Instead, now you get a USB C to 3.5mm dongle to connect your headphones.

Asus has added two Type C USB ports on the phone so you can charge your phone and game at the same time. The second Type C port is located on the side of the device.

Processor and Performance

Powering the Asus ROG Phone 3 is the latest Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon 865+. Assisting this SoC in the graphics department is the Qualcomm Adreno 650.

The ROG Phone 3 supports 5G network connectivity which makes it future proof even though the 5G network is still not available in India.

All modern mobile games should run on the ROG Phone 3 without a hitch and you can expect amazing gameplay without any lags. Games like Call of Duty Mobile and Fortnite should be a breeze to run at higher frame rates.

This smartphone comes with 8GB RAM which ensures that you can multitask without a hassle and your games won’t run out of memory when you switch between the applications.

The ROG Phone 3 features high speed 128GB UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage for your games and other applications which performs just like any modern SSD’s inside laptops.

The heating on the phone is handled well thanks to the heatsink and copper vapour chamber inside the phone. Even though the phone gets a bit warm during gaming, it doesn’t become too hot to cause any major issues.

The ROG Phone 3 has various accessories that can be added to it like the Aeroactive Cooler 3 to further enhance your gaming experience.

The display on the ROG Phone 3 is a huge 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a fluid 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth gaming experience.

Games that support high frame rates are going to be a delight to play on the ROG Phone 3.

The display is a beautiful AMOLED HDR panel, delivers you more accurate colours and deeper blacks than an ordinary LCD panel. The glass used on the display is Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for better protection from accidental scratches.

Similar to most other flagship smartphones in the market, the Asus ROG Phone 3 has an in-display fingerprint scanner that feels fast and responsive.

The ROG Phone 3 is a gaming phone and as expected the cameras on the phone are not that great, but you won’t be buying a gaming phone to take pictures.

In the rear of the phone, we get a 64MP primary camera, 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. In the front of the device, we have the 24MP selfie shooter.

The photos taken by the camera come out decent when taken in good lighting conditions but don’t go expecting a great deal from the camera.

Thanks to the powerful ISP inside the Snapdragon 865+ SoC inside, this device is capable of recording videos up to 8K resolution.

Like we mentioned before, this is a gaming phone and the cameras are not it’s strong forte.

The ROG Phone 3 has two front-firing stereo speakers and they are one of the best sounding speakers you can find on a smartphone.

Since the speakers on the phone are front-firing, you do get to see some bezels on the top and bottom but they are not that huge to hinder your gaming experience.

Battery Life

The ROG Phone 3 comes packed with a whopping 6000mAh battery for all your daily gaming and browsing needs.

The battery on the phone should last you a day if you are a heavy gamer without a problem and on normal usage, you can easily get more than a day’s charge.

This means you won’t have to charge your phone that often resulting in a healthier and a lasting battery in the long run.

Talking about charging, the phone comes bundled with a 30W fast charger to juice up the battery once it dies. You can use either of the two Type C USB ports on the phone to charge it up.

The Asus ROG Phone 3 is a phone that is built exclusively for mobile gamers. This device features unique technologies such as the air triggers and dual Type C USB ports intended specifically for gaming needs.

If you are a hardcore mobile gamer and want the best mobile phone to game on then look no further.

2. IQOO 3

Runner-Up Pick
  • Decent battery life and 55W fast charging
  • Flagship SD 865 SoC with 5G support
  • Super AMOLED Full HD display

iQOO is a Chinese smartphone brand that has been making phones in China for quite some time now.

iQOO is another sub-brand of Chinese conglomerate BBK electronics which is also the parent company of Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus, and Realme.

iQOO 3 is one of the cheapest Snapdragon 865 powered smartphones available in the Indian market, priced just under Rs.35,000.

Build and Design

The iQOO 3 has a glass front and back with an aluminium frame in between. This smartphone feels very solid and premium in the hand. The protection used on the phone is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 for better durability and protection from scratches.

The phone doesn’t have any official IP rating for dust and water resistance. So be careful to use it outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

In terms of design, the iQOO 3 has followed the steps of some of the other smartphones in this price range with the quad-camera setup in the back and a hole punch selfie camera in the front.

The phone has two pressure-sensitive triggers on the sides of the phone known as monster touch buttons. These buttons can be assigned to certain functions for gaming and it behaves similar to the air triggers found on the ROG Phone 3.

You also get a dedicated AI button on the iQOO 3 which can be used to bring up the Google assistant.

The phone has a mono speaker and we also get the much loved 3.5mm headphone jack.

Processor and Performance

The iQOO 3 is powered by the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which also has 5G support built-in.

It has 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. Sadly you don’t have the option to expand the storage via an sd card but there is another variant of the iQOO 3 that has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.

Gaming and multitasking run just fine without any lags or stutters whatsoever.

The GPU on the IQOO 3 is the Adreno 650 and it handles all graphically intensive games without any issues.

The phone runs on Android 10 with the iQOO UI 1.0 skin that provides a smooth operating experience.

The iQOO 3 features a beautiful 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. AMOLED panels are known for their vivid colours and rich blacks.

The phone has a resolution of 1800×2400 pixels which should be fine for gaming on a smartphone, providing a pixel density of 409ppi for sharper and clean visuals.

The iQOO 3 has a peak brightness of 800 nits which makes it a great device to game indoors and outside in direct sunlight.

Unfortunately, we only get a standard 60Hz refresh rate screen in the phone, this can be a let down for some people but the iQOO 3 boasts a 180Hz touch response rate instead, so you can enjoy games lag-free with precise touch actions.

The fingerprint scanner on the iQOO 3 is hidden under the display for convenience. This is fast and works like a charm every time without fail.

iQOO 3 features a quad camera layout in the rear, which has a 48MP main sensor, 13MP telephoto, 13MP wide camera, and a 2MP bokeh camera.

Now, to be honest no one buys a gaming phone for the cameras. The camera’s on the phone are average at best. You can get decent pictures when the lighting conditions are great but otherwise, you’ll mostly be getting grainy images or over-exposed photos.

In the front, we get the 16MP selfie shooter.

The front camera also takes decent pictures, but don’t expect flagship smartphone quality pictures.

Battery Life

iQOO 3 features a 4440mAh battery and it may not be the largest we have in a smartphone but on normal usage, it can easily survive the day on a single charge.

Heavy gaming on the phone will reduce the battery life but fret not as we have a 55W charger that comes bundled in the box to juice up the iQOO 3 in a jiffy.

The iQOO 3 might not be a smartphone you have heard much about but don’t overlook this smartphone by any cost as it offers you outstanding performance for less than half the price of most other flagship phones.

3. iPhone 11 Pro

Best Versatile Smartphone
  • Powerful A13 Bionic SoC
  • Industry-leading camera and image processing
  • Decent battery life

iPhone 11 Pro cannot essentially be considered as a gaming smartphone, to be honest. But it is so powerful enough that it can run all the games that you throw at it effortlessly, most of the time even better than its Android counterparts.

The iPhone 11 Pro is Apple’s flagship smartphone from last year featuring its powerful homegrown A13 Bionic chip inside.

Build and Design

The iPhone 11 Pro features a glass sandwich design with an aluminium frame in between.

Both the front and the back glass is covered with Corning gorilla glass 6 for accidental scratch protection.

The fit and finish of this flagship-grade smartphone from Apple as expected top-notch and luxurious.

The signature triple rear camera square bump makes this phone unique from the rest of the iPhones in the market.

The iPhone doesn’t have much going on with it in terms of design. It still follows the same design as the iPhone XS but with a different camera module.

The iPhone 11 Pro also has the notorious notch upfront which hosts Apple’s Face ID sensors and camera to unlock the phone.

The dual speakers on the iPhone provide you with a great listening experience and they sound loud and clear. The phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack as Apple has removed them since the iPhone 7.

The phone also has been certified with IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Processor and Performance

The iPhone 11 Pro is powered by Apple’s in-house A13 Bionic chip, the A13 Bionic chip is leagues ahead of its competitors Snapdragon and MediaTek.

The A13 Bionic is manufactured using the second-generation 7nm process by TSMC ( Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) which makes it one of the best SoC in the market. By 7nm we mean the size of the transistors present in the chip.

The 4 core GPU on the iPhone also provides you with industry-leading graphical power that should be able to run even the most graphically demanding games without a problem.

The iPhone 11 Pro is equipped with 4GB of RAM that is optimized for the best lag-free performance.

For storage, you get 64GB of inbuilt storage in the iPhone, unfortunately, you cannot expand the storage capacity.

The phone runs on Apple’s latest iOS 14 software. Apple provides five years of software updates for its phones from the date of release which is great for long-term users.

Since the hardware and software are so well optimized, the 4GB RAM which might feel a joke compared with Android smartphones can run apps, games and multitasking without any lags.

The display on the iPhone 11 Pro is a 5.8-inch super retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 1125 x 2346 pixels.

The display is also HDR10 certified which provides the user with vibrant and true colours while viewing videos and playing games.

The brightness of the display peaks at 800 nits which makes it great to use indoors as well as outdoors in direct sunlight.

The biggest drawback of the display on the iPhone is the huge notch that disrupts your gaming and video viewing experience. Unfortunately, there is no option to hide the notch and you have to get used to it.

The iPhone has a screen to body ratio of 82.1%, we would have had a higher number if the notch was replaced with a punch-hole cutout.

The cameras on the iPhone 11 Pro are one of the best you will find on any smartphone.

Apple is well renowned for its camera software and the imaging prowess.

The phone 11 Pro has a triple camera setup in the back consisting of the 12MP primary cam, 12MP ultrawide, and 12MP telephoto lens.

In the front, you have the 12MP selfie camera which produces great photos.

The primary camera also has OIS(Optical Image Stabilization) which comes in handy while taking videos as it reduces the shakes and jitters, making the video output look and feel cinematic.

The iPhone can record videos up to 4k 60fps.

The colour reproduction on the photos is great, thanks to the advanced image processing.

The photos on the iPhone are on par with some of the pics taken using a budget DSLR.

Battery Life

The iPhone 11 Pro is powered by a 3046mAh battery which is of quite smaller capacity when compared to its competitors.

Apple has optimized its iPhone to deliver the best battery life and to keep it on par with its Android competitors. You can expect the battery to easily last for a day without any fail.

The iPhone 11 Pro is a great phone if you want to game on.

It might not be someone’s first choice as it is not marketed as a gaming phone but the iPhone 11 Pro has the most powerful SoC and GPU on a mobile device and it can run all games easily without breaking a sweat.

4. Oneplus 8T

Affordable Flagship Smartphone
  • 65W Warp Charging support
  • 120Hz AMOLED display
  • Flagship SD 865 SoC with 5G support

One plus has been always known to deliver feature-rich, flagship-grade smartphones at almost half the cost of other smartphones in the market.

The Oneplus 8T is the latest flagship device from Oneplus featuring 5G connectivity and capable hardware inside for a budget just under Rs.42,999.

Build and Design

The Oneplus 8T is a refresh of the company’s previous Oneplus 8 smartphone which was highly successful in India.

This Oneplus device looks and feels premium even though it costs less than most of the other premium flagship devices.

The Oneplus 8T has the same glass and metal design found in most premium smartphones these days.

Oneplus 8T has a really simple design. In the rear, we have the quad-camera setup and the Oneplus logo in the centre. In the front of the device, we get the display with a hole-punch camera.

The phone does not have any official dust or water resistance rating so do be careful while using this device outdoors under heavy rains.

The buttons on the phone are the same power button, volume rocker on the right side, and on the left, you get the alert slider.

Unlike the Oneplus 8 Pro, the 8T does not have a curved display which makes it less prone to cracks if it accidentally slips away from your hands.

The Oneplus 8T has stereo speakers which sound great indoors but unfortunately, this smartphone doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Processor and Performance

Oneplus devices are known for their ultra-fast performance and the 8T is carrying the mantle forward.

Powering the Oneplus 8T is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor along with the Adreno 650 GPU.

This device supports 5G networks and it can be used once it is available in the country for faster internet speeds.

The UI on the device is Oneplus’s very own Oxygen OS skin running on the latest Android 11 OS. The 8T is one of the first few phones to run the latest Android 11 software.

The Oneplus 8T is a powerhouse and gaming on it is a breeze, you won’t have to compromise on graphics even while running the most graphically intensive games.

To store your applications, games, and photos the 8T comes with 128GB fast UFS 3.1 storage.

For smooth browsing and multitasking experience, the 8T is equipped with 8GB RAM thanks to which lags are a thing of the past.

The Oneplus 8T features a 6.55-inch FHD+ fluid 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

With games supporting high frame rate playback, the Oneplus 8T is a delight to use.

Once you get used to such fluid display’s it gets really hard to go back to a phone with a standard 60Hz display.

The display has a hole punch for the front camera which is better than having a notch of any kind.

The AMOLED panel on the phone also gives you more vibrant colours and deeper blacks so you have a better viewing and gaming experience.

The display also has the optical fingerprint scanner embedded in it. Oneplus has always provided faster in-display fingerprint scanners compared to other established smartphone brands.

The Oneplus 8T has a quad-camera setup in the rear with the 48 MP Sony IMX586 Sensor, 16 MP ultra-wide Angle, 5 MP macro lens, and 2 MP monochrome lens.

In the front, we have the 16 MP Sony IMX471 Sensor.

The pictures taken using the camera units turned out to be decent. You can’t expect the camera to capture pics like the iPhone and Pixel phones but the photos on the 8T are quite good for the price.

Since Oneplus is a developer-friendly brand which is up to date in releasing source codes for the OS and kernel, a fully working port of the famed GCam is quite assured.

This will improve camera performance significantly.

The OnePlus 8T can take videos at 4k in 60 or 30fps and the primary camera has OIS (optical image stabilization) which helps to reduce shakes and jittery movements while capturing videos.

Battery Life

The Oneplus 8T features a 4500mAh battery with unique two-section technology to facilitate faster charging.

The phone should last you easily a day on a single charge and maybe even more on light usage, but heavy gaming is going to reduce the battery life by quite a lot.

The Oneplus 8T has 65W Warp Charge and Oneplus claims that you can charge up the device to 100% in just 45 minutes flat.

The Oneplus 8T is a good phone for gamers and non-gamers alike.

This premium smartphone should be easily able to handle even the most intensive games without a problem and you can also enjoy them in a smooth 120Hz display. At just Rs.42,999 the Oneplus 8T is a phone you can check out.

5. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

Non-Chinese Gaming Smartphone
  • 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Powerful Exynos 990 processor
  • Decent battery life

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition smartphone is the latest in the S20 lineup which retails for under Rs.50,000 in the Indian market.

This premium mid-range smartphone competes with the likes of OnePlus 8T and iQOO3 and has enough potential to be used as a capable gaming device.

Build and Design

Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra or the S20’s glass build, the S20 FE has a less expensive plastic build. It seems like Samsung is following the Galaxy Note 20’s footsteps with the plastic body.

In the rear, we have the triple camera setup and in the front, we get the Infinity O display with the hole-punch camera.

Samsung has kept the design of the S20 FE simple. It doesn’t have anything out of the ordinary. The phone looks similar to the S20 the only difference is the camera module and the more noticeable bezels on the screen.

The phone has stereo speakers that are tuned by AKG like most of Samsung’s Galaxy devices.

The S20FE is certified IP68 dust and water-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor usage without the fear of elements.

This smartphone is a dual SIM device but the only caveat is that it features a hybrid SIM slot instead of one with a dedicated SD card slot.

Processor and Performance

The processor on the S20 FE is the same as the Galaxy S20 – the Exynos 990 SoC.

Even though this octa-core processor isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon counterparts, the Exynos 990 is still powerful enough to run games and do multitasking without a problem

The GPU on the S20 FE is the Mali-G77 MP11 which is capable of running almost all the currently trending games at maximum graphics settings smoothly.

The S20 FE comes with 128GB UFS3.1 inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM for all your multitasking needs and smooth browsing.

The phone runs on Samsung’s very own One UI 2.5 skin on top of the Android 10 OS with a promised update to the latest Android 11.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080x 2400 pixels.

This is an infinity O display according to the company marketing department, just because of the presence of a punch-hole camera cutout in the front.

This is a 120Hz refresh rate display with HDR10+ certification. Even though this display isn’t as crisp as the expensive S20 flagships, it’s very much sharp, vivid and brighter.

You will have no problem using this display both indoors and outdoors with gaming or for media consumption.

Thanks to the narrow bezels and the punch hole cut out, this smartphone from Samsung has an impressive screen to body ratio of 84.8%.

Underneath the display is an ordinary in-display fingerprint scanner which works reasonably fast and accurate.

The Samsung S20 FE’s triple camera setup in the back consists of the 12MP primary wide camera, 8MP telephoto lens, and the 12MP ultrawide lens.

Out of these, the primary and the telephoto lens has OIS (optical image stabilization).

Additionally, the telephoto lens provides up to 3x optical zoom for lossless pictures.

The pictures and videos from these camera units are comparable with other smartphones in this same price segment.

The maximum video resolution that this smartphone can record in 4K @ 60fps.

In the front, the Samsung galaxy S20FE features a 32MP punch hole camera. This is a wide-angle camera with HDR and 4K video recording support as well.

The photos and videos taken during daytime appear very much detailed and colour accurate while the low light ones come out a bit grainy.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is powered by a 4500mAh non-removable battery inside.

This will last for a day and then some, even with moderate to heavy usage. Even though this device supports 25W charging, it ships with just a 15W charger in the box.

The phone also supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging at 15W and 4.5W respectively.

With reverse wireless charging, you can charge other devices that support wireless charging like the Galaxy Buds or any other phone.

If you are looking for a non-Chinese smartphone to game on, then the Galaxy S20 FE should be on your radar.

It is a trimmed-down version of the much premium Galaxy S20 while retaining all the important features for a smooth and streamlined experience.

6. Oneplus Nord

Budget Allround Smartphone
  • 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display
  • 4115mah battery with 30W fast charging
  • 5G radio support

One Plus Nord has been one of the most awaited smartphones this year – thanks to its budget pricing.

Priced under Rs.30,000, is this Oneplus device better than the competitor models from Realme and Xiaomi? Let’s find out!

Design and Build Quality

The One Plus Nord has a glass sandwich design with a plastic frame in the middle. Both the front and the back glass is protected by Corning’s gorilla glass 5.

Weighing just 184g, the OnePlus Nord is one of the lightest smartphones in this price segment. Thanks to the curved glass edges, this smartphone feels comfortable in the palm.

The design of this device has nothing much to write about. It’s easy for someone to mistake the OnePlus Nord as a Realme device.

The vertical camera bump and the LED flash besides reminds us of the Realme X3.

The OnePlus Nord has retained the alert slider that we all love in the premium OnePlus devices.

In the bottom portion of the phone rests the single speaker, USB type C charging port and the dual SIM slot.

This smartphone lacks both a memory expansion slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OnePlus Nord features a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an enhanced 90Hz refresh rate.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has a pixel density of 408ppi, which makes this panel sharp and vibrant.

Even though the brightness levels are not too impressive, this AMOLED panel looks way better than the LCD one on the Realme X3.

Since this is an HDR10 certified panel, the dynamic range and the colour reproductions look stunning. The higher refresh rate makes this smartphone appear a lot smoother when watching media content and while playing games.

Processor and Performance

This budget smartphone from OnePlus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. This 7nm octa-core CPU clocked at 2.4GHz offers excellent everyday performance, to be honest.

Games like Fortnite and PUBG ran well in the highest graphics settings without any lags or stutters, thanks to the Adreno 620 GPU clocked at 750MHz.

Thanks to the 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS2.1 storage, multitasking is a breeze. The data transfer speeds, app load and boot up times are significantly better as well.

The Snapdragon 765G, even though not as powerful as the 855 or the 855+ found inside the likes of Redmi K20, K20 Pro or the Realme X3, comes with future-ready 5G radio support.

The quad rear camera system in this device consists of a primary 48MP sensor with PDAF and OIS (optical image stabilization) support.

Following the primary sensor in the rear is an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP depth sensor and 2MP macro mode, shooter.

The pictures and videos from this camera unit come out very detailed and colour accurate. The dynamic range and the exposure levels are on par with other smartphones available in this price segment.

The OnePlus Nord also excels in low light photography. The night-time shots look sharp and relatively clean.

Thanks to the OIS, this smartphone offers smooth and steady video footage up to 4K @ 30fps.

In the front, there is the dual punch hole 32MP+8MP unit for selfies and video calls. The 8MP sensor is an ultrawide sensor which captures a wide-angle background with decent quality.

The photos from the 32MP primary camera come out clean and detailed when clicked under well-lit conditions.

The OnePlus Nord comes with a 4115mAh Li-Po battery powering its internals. This battery will last you for a full day with moderate to heavy usage and 90Hz refresh rate turned on always.

OnePlus has also included a 30W warp charger in the box that will juice up the device from zero to hundred in 60 minutes.

The OnePlus Nord is a well-built 5G enabled smartphone with a gorgeous 90Hz AMOLED display and a powerful processor capable of smooth and lag-free gaming, multitasking along with the casual everyday usage.

7. POCO X3

Value for Money Smartphone
  • Powerful and efficient SD 732G processor
  • Long-lasting 6000mAh battery
  • 120Hz FHD+ HDR display

Poco is an independent sub-brand of Xiaomi that rocked the budget smartphone industry with the launch of the Poco F1.

The X3 from POCO is a third-generation smartphone from the company that retails for a budget under Rs.20,000 in the Indian market with a handful of unique features under its sleeve.

Design and Build Quality

The POCO X3 has a glass front and plastic back body with a durable aluminium frame in between.

The back panel of this smartphone has a unique glass-like design adorned by a distinctly shaped camera bump that makes this device stand out from the rest.

The fit and finish of this device is very much in the premium league and feels very durable and sturdy in hand.

The fingerprint scanner on this smartphone is located on the side power button which makes it easy to get access to.

This phone comes certified with IP53 splash proof rating for effortless outdoor usage.

There is the usual set of USB type C port and the 3.5mm connectivity jack in terms of connectivity options.

There are dual stereo speakers on this device for loud and clear sound output.

The only con we found with this smartphone is that it comes with a hybrid SIM slot without a dedicated SD card slot.

You can either use the device with two SIM cards or a SIM card and an SD card.

The POCO X3 features a stunning 120Hz refresh rate 6.67-inch FHD+ display.

This display has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz which makes gaming a delightful experience.

The colour accuracy is well calibrated to match natural colour tones.

The contrast levels are on par with the other smartphones in this price segment as well.

With narrow bezels all around, this panel has an impressive 84.9% screen to body ratio and a pixel density of 395ppi for sharp and clean visuals and text.

This is an HDR10 certified panel with excellent dynamic range for immersive media consumption.

Processor and Performance

What powers the POCO X3 inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G octa-core processor.

This is an 8nm processor with a powerful performance as well as impressive energy efficiency as well.

Be it gaming, media consumption or mobile video production, this processor delivers impressive performance without any lags or stutters.

The base variant of this smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS2.1 storage which is very much adequate for most of the everyday usage patterns.

The POCO X3 features a quad rear camera setup arranged in a unique horizontal square bump.

The primary camera is a 64MP sensor assisted by a 13MP ultrawide shooter along with a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

There is a dual-LED flash besides these cameras for extreme low light photography.

The pictures and videos from these cameras come out relatively clean and colour accurate.

Even the night mode photos seem usable. Since it is a Qualcomm device, expect a working port of GCam that can do wonders in terms of photos.

This smartphone can record 4K videos at 30fps and FHD videos at 120fps.

In the front, the 20MP punch hole camera does a great job in capturing detailed selfies with adequate sharpness and detail levels.

Battery Life

The POCO X3 has a relatively beefy 6000mAh battery inside powering its internals.

This will last you for a day and a half with intense heavy usage.

POCO has bundled a 33W fast charger in the box that juices up the battery within 1.30-1.45 hours.

The POCO X3 is an all-rounder device with a gorgeous 120Hz HDR-enabled FHD+ device with a powerful processor inside.

This is one of the best choices in the sub. Rs.20,000 for entry-level gaming and media consumption.

8. Mi 10T Pro

Mi 10T Pro
Feature Rich Smartphone
  • Fluid 144Hz FHD+ LCD
  • Powerful SD 865 SoC
  • Capable camera system

The Mi 10T Pro is a brand new smartphone from Xiaomi. Xiaomi has a reputation for making affordable phones with really impressive specs, and the Mi 10T Pro is no exception.

This flagship smartphone from Xiaomi has comparable hardware specifications similar to that of the current premium smartphones with almost double the asking price.

Build and Design

The Mi 10T Pro has the basic glass sandwich design which is normal with most of the modern smartphones. It has Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 in the front and the back while the frame of the phone is made of aluminium.

The Gorilla Glass protection helps to keep the display less resistant to scratches.

The glass on the back of the Mi 10T Pro has a frosted matte texture and it is a fingerprint magnet.

We recommend using the device with the included case so it looks clean all the time. The back also has a curved design which makes the phone comfortable to hold in the palm.

The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which also doubles as the power button.

The phone has a triple camera setup in the rear and the front, we have a hole-punch camera.

Processor and Performance

Inside the Mi 10T Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which lets you experience flagship-level performance and 5G Network.

The Adreno 650 GPU is the graphics powerhouse of the Mi 10T Pro which makes sure that all your games run smoothly.

Games like Fortnite and Call of Duty work perfectly fine on the Mi 10T Pro.

The smartphone also has 8GB RAM onboard to make sure that you have a lag-free experience and 128GB inbuilt storage for all your games, photos, and other applications.

The phone runs on the Android 10 OS with the MIUI 12 skin and has promised Android 11 update shortly.

The Mi 10T Pro features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 1080p LCD screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz.

The 144Hz screen gives you a fluid gaming experience as games look smooth on the Mi 10T Pro.

The Mi 10T has an AdaptiveSync display which means the refresh rate will sync to the content that is being displayed.

Even though LCD screens are not as good as AMOLED, Xiaomi has done a great job with the display.

The blacks are not the deepest but the contrast and colour reproduction are one of the best among this price segment.

This display also features a hole-punch selfie camera which is better than having a notch disrupting your viewing experience.

The triple camera setup on the Mi 10T Pro consists of the 108MP primary shooter, 13MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro.

In the front of the device is the hole-punch 20MP selfie camera.

It is a known fact that higher megapixel numbers don’t necessarily mean better photos, and that is the case with the Mi 10T Pro as well.

The 108MP primary camera does take good pictures but it isn’t as good as the pictures taken on Pixel and iPhones. Xiaomi has to work on its camera software to deliver better results.

The selfie camera on the Mi 10T Pro also softens the images which make it look different than how it is.

The Mi 10T Pro can take videos up to 8k at 30fps.

It features OIS so you can record your videos without having to worry about shakes and hands movements to get stable, steady footage.

Battery Life

The Mi 10T Pro has a 5000mAh battery that should easily last a day on normal usage while heavy gaming would reduce the battery life.

Xiaomi uses a 33W Dual-split fast-charge technology that can juice up your battery to 100% in just 60 minutes.

The Mi 10T Pro is a flagship killer at the price of just Rs.39,999. You get features you don’t find even in the highest-end smartphones like a 144Hz screen.

So if you want the flagship experience at a more affordable price range then do check out the Mi 10T Pro.

9. Realme Narzo 20 Pro

Honourable Mention
  • Powerful Helio G95 processor
  • 65W super dart fast charging
  • 90Hz FHD+ IPS display

Realme is a budget smartphone brand spun off from Oppo to compete directly with the budget Redmi range of smartphones.

The original Narzo series was launched as an ultra-affordable gaming smartphone but with disappointing internals and the all-new Narzo 20 Pro is here with some significant improvements.

Design and Build Quality

The Narzo 20 Pro has a glass front, polycarbonate plastic frame and a plastic back structure with a unique gradient design.

This smartphone weighs around 190g, but since the weight is well balanced it doesn’t feel much of an issue to use single-handed.

The front display is protected by Corning gorilla glass for preventing accidental scratches.

The Narzo 20 Pro from Realme, like the recent trend, has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for easy lock/unlock procedure.

The USB type C charging port supports USB OTG feature. There is the regular 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio connectivity as well.

In the original Narzo 10 smartphone, we got an HD+ display which was very disappointing, to be honest.

But with the Realme Narzo 20 Pro, what we get is a 90Hz ultra-smooth 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a native resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has a punch hole cut out in the front for the selfie camera. This panel covers 83.5% screen to body ratio and has a sharp ~405ppi pixel density.

The colours come out rich and punchy, the brightness levels are sufficient for both indoors as well as occasional outdoor usage.

This is a standard 60Hz panel but overall the UI and the interaction feel smooth and lag-free.

Processor and Performance

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro is powered by the gaming-oriented MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor.

With the 6GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage, this device performs exceptionally well with gaming as well as another day to day usage.

There are no noticeable lags or stutters while playing games, thanks to the powerful Mali G76 GPU inside.

The all-new optimized Realme UI on top of Android 10 Q further enhances the overall performance of this smartphone.

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro packs a capable quad rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor.

This is followed by an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth and 2MP macro shooter.

The photos and videos from this camera unit come out very detailed and colour accurate for its asking price.

The maximum video recording resolution of this smartphone is 4K @ 30fps.

The front 13MP punch hole camera has HDR support and offers a wide-angle selfie experience.

Battery Life

This entry-level gaming smartphone from Realme is powered by a 4500mAh Li-Po battery inside.

This will last you over a day and a half, specifically 7-8 hours of screen on time on a single charge.

Surprisingly the Narzo 20 Pro is bundled with a 65W super dart charger that juices up the battery within 1.30 hours flat.

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro is an entry-level gaming smartphone with capable internal hardware and decent camera optics for a budget under Rs.15,000.
