Design and Build Quality

The plastic build of the Panasonic TH-40HS450DX doesn’t feel cheap by any means. Panasonic has used good quality components for the construction of this television and it reflects in the overall fit and finish.

The bezels around the display are very narrow, arguably the thinnest among the LED TVs in the sub. Rs.30,000 price range.

The I/O ports are located ideally facing sideways for easy connectivity when placed on a table or mounted on the wall.

The remote control of this television is too long to our liking and has a lot of buttons which seems confusing to be honest.

The Panasonic TH-40HS450DX features the following connectivity options:

  • 2 x HDMI ports
  • 2 x USB ports
  • 1 x composite port
  • 1 x antenna port

This 60Hz panel also supports adaptive dimming which dims the specific portion of the display depending on the visuals, thereby resulting in better dynamic range coverage.

The blacks appear as very black, compensating the other colours to make them look vivid and punchy,

Thanks to the razor-thin bezels around the display, the visuals on the Panasonic TH-40HS450DX seamlessly blends in with the surroundings just like that of premium TVs.

Miscellaneous

This is an Android-powered smart TV that comes with all the bells and whistles from Google such as the play store support.

Design and Build Quality

Most of the budget LED TVs now selling in the market do feature more or less the same design.

This helps them save a lot of money in the manufacturing process.

The Kodak 43UHDX7XPRO has a relatively slim profile and has narrow bezels at the sides of the display.

All the ports are present in the backside. This might pose an issue to reach the connections when the device is wall mounted.

The plastics used in the build are of average quality and don’t feel cheap either.

Connectivity Features

The Kodak 43UHDX7XPRO has the following I/O ports:

  • 3 x HDMI ports

This is an HDR10 supported panel with good dynamic range and colour accuracy.

Smart TV features

The Kodak 43UHDX7XPRO runs on stock Android TV OS powered by an ARM Cortex quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

  2. Hi! Vidhun i wanted to ask if the blaupunkt 55inch tv is any good because i am skeptical about how this company from germany is offering an a+ grade panel, 15 inch biigger display than its competitors at the same price point. Can you please point out the pros and cons of this tv because i can’t any youtube review about this tv( another point i am skeptical ) Thanks in Advance!!

    Reply
    • Hi Raj.

Blaupunkt being a German company doesn’t actually mean the company sources it’s components from Germany. Almost all mass production electronics appliances companies source their components from China and assemble it in factories either in China or countries like Vietnam and India. That answers the first part of your question.

About the pros, as you mentioned, this TV comes with an A+ panel with improved color accuracy. It does have all the smart connectivity features such as Wi-Fi for wirelessly hooking this TV to the internet. One main thing to note here is that, this TV runs on an Android based OS. Although you can have popular apps such a s Netflix, Hot star etc, there won’t be a Google play store. It is replaced with a third party Aptoide store. If you’re OK with that, the Blaupunkt TV is well worth the money.

  3. I was actually buying it to play games on ps4 and some occasional streaming so i thought that 55 inches would be better also it consumes only 105 watts even when it is a 55′ inch tv, so is it better or the motorola tv. BTW thank you for actually replying to my question.

    Reply
    • Hi,

The size of the television is purely a subjective point. It depends up on the size of the room, the purpose of your purchase etc. Having a bigger display doesn’t always mean better gaming performance. The power consumption of most of the modern televisions, irrespective of their display sizes are minimal so you don’t have to worry about that.

  4. Hi i want to buy the blaupunkt tv but the reviews are saying its ui is not great what is your opinion about it or should i go for the motorola tv please answer.

    Reply
    • Hi Dev, glad you asked the question. The Blaupunkt TV is indeed an Android-based TV and is not running the stock Android TV OS. Blaupunkt uses a custom OS skin named hybrid launcher is a bit less polished at the moment. The Motorola TV, on the other hand, runs the stock Android TV OS and has a very much clean and polished UI. Feature-wise, both these TV’s offers its own set of advantages. If you ask us to take a pick, we will opt for the Motorola as it comes with support for the Google software suite out of the box.
