Runner-Up Pick
  • Excellent OLED display
  • UFS 3.1 storage
  • Long-lasting 4400mAh battery

IQOO is a sub-brand of Vivo dealing with flagship-grade smartphones.

IQOO has been marketing their smartphones in China for a while now and recently decided to foray into the competitive Indian smartphone market with the all-new 5G enables IQOO 3.

Design and Build Quality

With a glass front and back form factor sandwiched between an aluminium frame, this phone feels sturdy and durable with high-quality materials used for its construction.

The IQOO 3 has Gorilla Glass 6 protection in the front and the rear. There are two pressure-sensitive buttons on this phone for acting as trigger buttons during gaming.

Additionally, IQOO has given an AI button to launch the Google voice assistant.

The quality of construction of this phone is very much on par with other flagships and offers a durable and robust feel in hand.

The IQOO 3 packs in a tall 6.44-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This HDR10 enabled display covers a screen to body ratio of about 84.3% and has a pixel density of 409ppi.

This HDR10+ display offers excellent colour reproduction and dynamic range to ensure the best immersive media consumption experience.

Being an OLED display, the rich blacks add vibrancy to the already perfect visual treat by the screen.

The IQOO 3 also comes with a 180Hz touch sampling rate which improves the touch accuracy.

Processor and Performance

The IQOO 3 packs in the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G processor made from the 7nm manufacturing process for powerful performance coupled with power efficiency.

With the 12GB onboard RAM and 256GB internal storage, this smartphone comes second to none in terms of raw performance.

Bet it multitasking or intense gaming sessions, the IQOO 3 will continue to perform without breaking a sweat.

The IQOO 3 features a quadruple rear camera setup. The main 48MP sensor has an aperture size of 1/1.8 and comes with phase detection autofocus.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor which comes with AI integration features for better-looking selfies and portraits.

The IQOO 3 has an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device.
Compared to previous generation in-display scanners, the one on this device feels adequately fast and accurate.

3. Apple iPhone 11 Pro

Best iPhone
  • Smooth UI and OS
  • Excellent camera system
  • Superfast and secure Face ID

The iPhone 11 Pro is the latest flagship smartphone from Apple announced last week.

This latest iteration of the iPhone brings some significant improvements over the last flagship, making it the best possible smartphone available in the entire world.

Design and build quality

The iPhone 11 Pro carries over the popular design of the original iPhone X and looks minimal and premium at the same time.

The display is a lot bigger and will satisfy those who crave for more screen real estate for an immersive experience.

As with the iPhone 11 Pro, this phone also got away with the touch ID and relies solely on face ID to unlock the device. It now works faster and more reliably, thanks to the improvements in the hardware optimizations.

The glass front and back build are now a lot tougher and scratch resistant with the Corning gorilla glass 6 and has been receiving praises from online reviewers regarding this.

There are dual speakers on this phone and the stereo effect is evident with the sound output. The sound is very louder than the previous versions and with no distortions per se.

The display has now received a spec bump, in the sense that it is now a 5.8-inch Quad HD super retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels.

This gives the screen a pixel density of about 458ppi, which makes it one of the best in the business.

As expected, this panel is HDR10 and Dolby vision supported panel and comes with an exciting 120Hz refresh rate.

Apple has optimized this display to output wonderful images and videos with exceptional clarity and details.

You’ll find no trouble using this phone in the direct sunlight with the AMOLED panel reaching peak brightness levels of 800nits.

The screen to body ratio of this iPhone is 82.1%, which means the only substantial thing that breaks the continuity is the notch up top.

No, you can’t hide the notch and would have to bear with it while watching videos on this smartphone.

Processor and performance

Apple is a front-runner in the mobile chipset industry and its chips perform better than the likes of Snapdragon and MediaTek.

The iPhone 11 Pro features the latest Apple A13 Bionic SoC manufactured on a 7nm process that outperforms Snapdragon 855 by a relatively huge margin.

The performance is fluid and lightning-fast with 4GB RAM and the superfast 256GB UFS storage adds to it.

The four core Apple GPU performs exceptionally well in graphics-intensive tasks and delivers excellent performance while gaming.

The only downside of this powerful internals is with the glass back that is not as efficient as the metal back in dissipating the heat.

Apple rivals Samsung when it comes to camera technology.

The iPhone11 Pro features a triple 12MP camera unit at the back of which apart from the primary sensor one is an f/1.8 ultrawide angle sensor and the other is a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens.

Both these primary and ultrawide lenses have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The quality of images and videos that comes out of these lenses are very pleasing and has natural colours and a wide dynamic range.

The videos are stabilized and can shoot up to 4K at 60fps.

The front camera consists of dual 12MP sensors that take high-quality selfies and portrait mode snaps.

The dedicated image processor does eliminate the noise in the images and videos and smoothens the textures to give a more natural-looking shot.

Battery life

The battery on this iPhone 11 Pro is a non-removable 3190 mAh Li-ion cell that isn’t a significant upgrade from the yesteryear flagship model.

The OLED display and the highly optimized iOS 13 doesn’t drain battery like Android phones and can last easily over a day with moderate usage. Apple claims that the iPhone 11 Pro will last up to 5 hours more than the iPhone XS Max.

Also with features like wireless charging and fast charging support, the device can be easily juiced up.

The iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone that you can buy in the market if you want a beast in terms of raw performance.

Excellent software support and durable build quality make this device worth the premium you pay for it.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Best Smartphone for Professionals
  • Digital stylus support
  • Long battery life
  • Gorgeous AMOLED display

Samsung’s Note series was the first to usher the large-screen smartphone niche in the world.

Before the original Note came along, people were a bit sceptical about a large display on a phone that they’d carry around daily in their pockets.

The Galaxy Note 20 is the latest and greatest addition to the Note family and is probably the best till date.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is more of a professional workhorse rather than a typical smartphone. The features and the design is targeted at people who want more productivity on the go.

The industrial design is very much similar to the previous Samsung Note series phones which in itself is a great thing because those phones looked dope.

The glossy finish plastic back and the seamlessly integrated infinity O display makes this phone look like a stunning marvel worth drooling about.

The build quality is top-notch with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 covering the display and the IP68 dust and water resistance.

Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on this smartphone.

The main striking feature of the Note series smartphones is the digital stylus. Samsung has completely revamped the stylus functionality with this iteration and made it more useful and handy than ever.

The convenience of stylus usage is what makes the Galaxy Note series a fan favourite among the professionals and business executives.

Samsung makes the best displays in the entire world. Period. The Galaxy Note 20 comes with a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1080 x 2040 pixels.

The colours look vivid and punchy. The wide colour gamut of this panel makes the colours to be as close to the natural colour palette.

The brightness levels are excellent and the sunlight legibility isn’t a thing to worry about.

As Samsung named it, this 6.7-inch Infinity O display integrates seamlessly with the plastic back and makes the device look and feel premium in hand.

The only issue we had with this device was its one-hand usability.

Since it’s a large display, people with relatively small fingers will find it difficult to access the far-reaching corners of the display with a single hand.

The Samsung Note 20 comes with a triple rear camera setup that comprises two 12MP sensors and a 64MP sensor.

The 64MP sensor is a telephoto lens and is tagged along by the 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

The is OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for both the primary and the telephoto cameras. The images that come out of these sensors look great and detailed.

The colour saturation is excellent with minimal noise.

The front 10MP camera has dual PDAF autofocus and takes selfies with good details as well.

Processor and Performance

This device in India features a homebrewed Exynos 990 Octa-core processor inside, which is the same chip we have seen with the Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone.

This chipset is fast and reliable for gaming as well as other resource-intensive tasks to run smoothly.

There will be no sort of lags or stutters while multitasking with apps, thanks to the ample 8 GB RAM onboard.

The powerful chipset with Android Pie optimizations makes this device one of the fastest performing devices in the market at present.

The 8GB variant comes with 256GB of super fast UFS3.0 onboard memory.

Battery Life

The Note 20 packs a large 4300mAh Li-ion battery inside.

Even with heavy usage, this big-screen beast can last over a day and a half comfortably and then some.

With fast charging support, this device can get charged up pretty quickly as well.

This smartphone also supports reverse wireless charging by which you can charge devices such as wireless earbuds easily on the go.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is the best productivity smartphone that money can buy at present.

The phone comes with a wireless stylus that lets you do a plethora of stuff so easily which you will find quite strenuous with fingers.

The long-lasting battery and the excellent display makes it gaming as well as media consumption device as well.

So in short, productivity and entertainment can go hand in hand with this latest offering from Samsung.

5. OnePlus 8

Budget Flagship Smartphone
  • Best in class Snapdragon 865 processor
  • 90Hz fluid AMOLED display
  • 30W dash charging support

OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone brand popular for its affordable flagships that often beat the big players in the market.

The OnePlus 8 is the latest incremental hardware update to the popular OnePlus 7 with almost all the good features retained and then added some that make this phone more likeable.

Design and Build Quality

In the never-ending battle of increased screen real estate, companies started relying on motorized front cameras to avoid notch.

But with this iteration of the 8 series phones, Oneplus has punch hole camera design which we honestly prefer over motorized cameras any day.

The chin size has been reduced slightly to make the display seem to stretch across the front side.

The quality of construction is top-notch and the attention to detail is very much evident from the fit and finish of this display.

Processor and Performance

Inside this device, what powers the show is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor.

This flagship processor from Qualcomm along with the Adreno 650 GPU performs everything you throw at it with relative ease.

Be it gaming or any other resource-intensive tasks such as video/photo editing, the device performs exceptionally well without any lags.

The Oxygen OS that runs on top of the base Android 10.0 Q is very minimal and adds only the necessary features without bloating the interface too much.

This makes the operations smooth and fast and also aids in achieving better battery life.

The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a punch-hole camera cutout. This full HD panel looks fantastic with true to life colour reproduction and excellent contrast levels.

This being a 90Hz refresh rate display, the animations and the interface altogether feels silky smooth.

This is by far the best looking 1080p AMOLED panel in any smartphone in the market. Nifty additions like a super-fast facial recognition, which works extremely well and the dedicated gaming mode improve the usability of the device to the next level.

The fingerprint scanner now resides in the lower half of the display and works well to unlock the device from sleep.

There is a slight delay to unlock when compared with physical fingerprint scanners but the technology is still evolving, so it’s just the way it will be.

This device comes with a triple 48MP + 16MP + 2MP camera at the rear and a 16MP front camera.

The 48MP sensor in the rear features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady smooth shots. Electronic Image stabilisation is present as well.

The 16MP camera is an ultra-wide sensor with a wide field of view for capturing landscapes and buildings.

The 2MP is the macro mode shooter for close up shots. The OnePlus 8 can record 4K video at 60fps with gyro EIS enabled.

The front 16M shooter is HDR enabled and can record electronically stabilized 1080p videos at 30fps.

The pictures taken by the camera are rich in detail and exhibit great dynamic range.

Both the front and rear cameras perform great in good lighting conditions but the same can’t be said about the front camera.

Battery Life

This device has 4300mAh Li-ion battery that will last for a day and a half on moderate to heavy usage.

The renowned 30W dash charge support makes it easy to juice up the battery within no time.

OnePlus 8 is a value for money smartphone that offers flagship internals at an affordable price.

This device is well built and the overall construction feels premium and durable.

The AMOLED display with great colours and a capable camera along with continuous software support from the company makes this device one of the best phones available in the market.

6. Motorola Edge Plus

Best Build Quality
  • Flagship Snapdragon 865 processor
  • UFS3.0 ultra-fast internal storage
  • 90Hz OLED waterfall display

Motorola has been quite silent when it comes to the flagship Android smartphone scene but with the Razr foldable and now with the Edge Plus smartphone it seems they are back with a bang.

The Edge Plus from Motorola is a true flagship grade Android smartphone comparable to the likes of Samsung S20 series.

Design and Build Quality

The Motorola Edge Plus features the familiar glass sandwich design that we are familiar with.

The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected front and back panels have an oleophobic coating to repel water droplets easily.

This smartphone is considerably narrower than all other flagships and this makes holding the phone with one hand a delightful experience.

Another important point to note here is that the Edge plus does feature a 3.5mm jack, which almost unheard of when it comes to flagship smartphones.

As the name suggests, the Edge plus has a rounded screen which curves into the glass back, which looks and feels unique as well as premium.

Overall, the construction and build quality are top-notch on this device, as expected from a flagship Android smartphone.

The Motorola Edge plus features a massive 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate.

This display covers around 96% of the front of the phone and also curves into the back glass.

This HDR10 certified OLED panel can display up to 10 billion colours. The colours pop out to your face and the contrast levels are excellent.

The 90Hz refresh rate ensures the visuals and the interface in total feels silky smooth and refined.

Edge plus utilizes the waterfall curved portion of the display for edge lighting notifications, which is cool and very practical when the phone is kept on top of a table or somewhere.

Processor and Performance

This device is powered by the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor built on a 7nm process for better power efficiency.

With 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS3.0 storage, this smartphone performs as well as the Samsungs and One Plus devices out there.

The Adreno 650 is now beefier to handle graphics and gaming,

With specs and raw performance matching a mid-range laptop, you won’t have any trouble using this phone anytime soon.

This flagship smartphone from Motorola has a 108MP primary sensor in the rear with OIS for stabilized photos and videos.

Additionally, there is the 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for long-distance photography followed by a 16MP ultra-wide sensor which can also double up as a macro camera.
The portrait and bokeh mode shots take leverage of the 3D TOF ( time of flight ) sensor for accurate depth data.

The front camera is a 25MP sensor with HDR for high dynamic range selfie shots.

The images and videos turn out to have excellent details and colour accuracy. The OIS helps in reducing the jitters and shakes significantly.

Even with the ultra-wide sensor, there is not much colour noise. One of the important things to note is that the rear camera can record 6K videos at 30fps, although it is an overkill, to be honest.

Battery Life

The Motorola Edge Plus packs in a 5000mAh battery to power up the beefy internals inside.

This battery will easily last for a day worth of heavy usage before you need to plug in the device.

This device supports wireless charging and also has the reverse wireless charging feature which might come in handy at times.

Motorola bundles an 18W fast charger in the box, which is quite an irony considering the price.

The Motorola Edge Plus is a well-built smartphone with best in class internals.

It also has a significant advantage of having the near-stock Android 10 OS, untouched with bloatwares and fancy UI skins.

7. Realme X50 Pro

Value for Money Smartphone
  • Flagship Snapdragon 865 processor
  • 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Decent battery life

The X50 Pro is the flagship smartphone offering from Realme with 5G support priced under Rs.42,000.

The Realme X50 Pro is arguably the best smartphone that has ever come out after the brand spun off as a separate subsidiary from Oppo.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme X50 Pro is built to last. It has a glass sandwich design with a strong aluminium frame in between.

The front and the rear glass is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 to save the device from accidental scratches.

This device has stereo speakers and support for Dolby Atmos and incidentally has very loud and clear sound output.

There is no memory expansion slot, so you’ll be stuck with the 128GB storage onboard forever. One other thing that is lacking is the 3.5mm headphone jack which is quite disappointing considering the price.

The buttons are placed comfortably around the chassis where the fingers naturally rest. These buttons feel tactile and responsive as well.

The camera unit is vertically placed in the rear, similar to other Realme phones we have come across in the past.

Overall the fit and finish and the build quality of the Realme X50 Pro are very much on point considering its internals and the asking price.

The Realme X50 Pro has a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This 20:9 aspect ratio panel has a pixel density of 409ppi, making it extremely sharp and vibrant to the eyes.

With a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz which can be toggled on or off, the visuals and the animations look buttery smooth.

If you are an avid gamer or mobile media consumption enthusiast, this display will make you feel right at home.

This is an HDR10+ certified panel which extends the dynamic range further for an immersive content viewing experience.

Processor and Performance

The Realme X50 Pro is powered by the latest and greatest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and assisted with the Adreno 650 GPU.

This is a 5G enabled chipset with eight cores clocked at 2.84GHz that performs blazingly fast with games, everyday usage and multitasking.

Games run smoothly at high graphics settings without any issues and the high-resolution video playback also works just as good.

Since the Qualcomm 865 processor is made by a 7nm process, it is not powerful but also power efficient.

This premium mid-range smartphone from Realme has a quad rear camera setup and a dual front camera.

In the rear, the primary 64MP sensor is followed by the 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, 8MP ultra-wide sensor and 2MP B&W sensor for accurate depth information.

The pictures and videos from the rear camera turn out to have ample details and natural colours.

Realme hasn’t done any abnormal saturation boosting this time and it reflects in the results.

The front dual camera has a 32MP primary shooter assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor for capturing more subjects while framing selfie shots or while blogging.

Battery Life

Realme X50 Pro is powered by a 4200mAh Li-Po battery that is rated to last for a day and a half with moderate to heavy usage.

Realme has included a 65W super dart charger in the box that will juice up the battery from zero to hundred comfortably within an hour.

The Realme X50 Pro is a flagship-grade device with best in class internals for half the price of other branded smartphones from the likes of Samsung.

8. Mi 10

Feature Rich Smartphone
  • 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • 5G enabled flagship processor

Mi 10 is the latest Android flagship smartphone from Xiaomi launched recently in the Indian market.

Priced under Rs.55,000, this premium smartphone competes with the likes of Realme X50 pro and the IQOO smartphones.

Design and Build Quality

Similar to many other smartphones in its price range, the Mi 10 features a glass sandwich design with an aluminium frame in between.

Protected by the Corning’s gorilla glass 5 in the front, the Mi Note 10 looks eerily similar to yesteryear Samsung flagship phones, mainly due to the curved glass display upfront.

This smartphone comes with dual speakers and has a decent sound output quality, to say the least.

There is no memory expansion slot and 3.5mm headphone jack, but as a consolation, Xiaomi was kind enough to bundle a USB type C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.

The power button and the volume rockers are placed on the right side as we have seen with Xiaomi devices in the past. The left side remains wary of any buttons or slots whatsoever.

Weight at 208g, this rounded display smartphone feels quite okay to hold in the hand but accidental screen touches might pose an issue for the first few days of usage.

The Mi 10 flagship smartphone features a 6.67-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

This 19.5:9 aspect ratio panel is HDR10+ certified to deliver visuals with the best possible dynamic range in the segment.

Being an AMOLED panel, the blacks remain inky blacks and the colours appear vivid and punchy.

This 90Hz refresh rate panel has a maximum peak brightness of 500 nits which is excellent for indoor usage and provides good enough outdoor screen legibility.

Thanks to the punch hole front camera, this display has a screen to body ratio of 89.8% which makes the entire front section feel like a seamless piece of display.

Processor and Performance

This premium flagship smartphone from Xiaomi features the latest 5G enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with Adreno 650 graphics.

This is a tried and tested processor which handles every task thrown at it with relative ease in a power-efficient manner, thanks to the 7nm+ process.

Coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB of super-fast UFS3.0 storage, every action feels lightning fast and smooth.

There is no lag to be seen or felt anywhere throughout the UI.

Be it gaming, media consumption or multitasking, this processor never breaks a sweat.

Do note the fact that since this device doesn’t come with a memory expansion slot, you can’t chip in an SD card as you wish.

The Mi 10 has an impressive rear camera setup. The quad rear camera system comprises the primary 108MP f/1.7 sensor with OIS and PDAF followed by a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP macro mode shooter and 2MP depth sensor.

We wish Xiaomi had added a telephoto lens instead of the macro mode camera but it is what it is.

The dual-tone LED flash assists these cameras in low light environments to take detailed, colour accurate shots.

The images and videos from these sensors come out very detailed and colour accurate, with decent exposure and dynamic range.

The rear camera of this smartphone can record 8K videos at 24fps.

In the front, the single 20MP punch hole camera rules the show to provide a detailed and colour accurate selfie shooting experience.

What powers the Mi 10’s hardware beneath is a 4780mAh Li-Po battery that will easily last you over a day and a half even with extensive usage.

Xiaomi has included a 30W charger in the box to top this battery fairly quickly.

The Mi 10 sports 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging as well.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 is a flagship Android smartphone with top of the line internals including the 5G enabled Snapdragon 865 processor and a stunning 90Hz AMOLED display.

If you are looking for a device with flagship specs at almost half the price of established brands such as Samsung, the Mi 10 is a great choice.

9. OnePlus Nord

Budget Allround Smartphone
  • 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display
  • 4115mah battery with 30W fast charging
  • 5G radio support

One Plus Nord has been one of the most awaited smartphones this year – thanks to its budget pricing.

Priced under Rs.30,000, is this Oneplus device better than the competitor models from Realme and Xiaomi? Let’s find out!

Design and Build Quality

The One Plus Nord has a glass sandwich design with a plastic frame in the middle. Both the front and the back glass is protected by Corning’s gorilla glass 5.

Weighing just 184g, the OnePlus Nord is one of the lightest smartphones in this price segment. Thanks to the curved glass edges, this smartphone feels comfortable in the palm.

The design of this device has nothing much to write about. It’s easy for someone to mistake the OnePlus Nord as a Realme device.

The vertical camera bump and the LED flash besides reminds us of the Realme X3.

The OnePlus Nord has retained the alert slider that we all love in the premium OnePlus devices.

In the bottom portion of the phone rests the single speaker, USB type C charging port and the dual SIM slot.

This smartphone lacks both a memory expansion slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OnePlus Nord features a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an enhanced 90Hz refresh rate.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has a pixel density of 408ppi, which makes this panel sharp and vibrant.

Even though the brightness levels are not too impressive, this AMOLED panel looks way better than the LCD one on the Realme X3.

Since this is an HDR10 certified panel, the dynamic range and the colour reproductions look stunning. The higher refresh rate makes this smartphone appear a lot smoother when watching media content and while playing games.

Processor and Performance

This budget smartphone from OnePlus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. This 7nm octa-core CPU clocked at 2.4GHz offers excellent everyday performance, to be honest.

Games like Fortnite and PUBG ran well in the highest graphics settings without any lags or stutters, thanks to the Adreno 620 GPU clocked at 750MHz.

Thanks to the 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS2.1 storage, multitasking is a breeze. The data transfer speeds, app load and boot up times are significantly better as well.

The Snapdragon 675G even though not as powerful as the 855 or the 855+ found inside the likes of Redmi K20, K20 Pro or the Realme X3, comes with future-ready 5G radio support.

The quad rear camera system in this device consists of a primary 48MP sensor with PDAF and OIS (optical image stabilization) support.

Following the primary sensor in the rear is an  8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP depth sensor and 2MP macro mode, shooter.

The pictures and videos from this camera unit come out very detailed and colour accurate. The dynamic range and the exposure levels are on par with other smartphones available in this price segment.

The OnePlus Nord also excels in low light photography. The night-time shots look sharp and relatively clean.

Thanks to the OIS, this smartphone offers smooth and steady video footage up to 4K @ 30fps.

In the front, there is the dual punch hole 32MP+8MP unit for selfies and video calls. The 8MP sensor is an ultrawide sensor which captures a wide-angle background with decent quality.

The photos from the 32MP primary camera come out clean and detailed when clicked under well-lit conditions.

The OnePlus Nord comes with a 4115mAh Li-Po battery powering its internals. This battery will last you for a full day with moderate to heavy usage and 90Hz refresh rate turned on always.

OnePlus has also included a 30W warp charger in the box that will juice up the device from zero to hundred in 60 minutes.

The OnePlus Nord is a well-built 5G enabled smartphone with a gorgeous 90Hz AMOLED display and a powerful processor capable of smooth and lag-free gaming, multitasking along with the casual everyday usage.

10. Samsung Galaxy M51

Smartphone with Best Battery Life
  • Powerful and efficient Snapdragon 730G processor
  • Long-lasting 7000mAh battery
  • Vivid and punchy sAMOLED Plus display

Samsung M series devices are online exclusive smartphones that are priced aggressively to compete with the Redmi and Realme devices in the market.

The all-new Galaxy M51 has many firsts in the segment and for the first time features a Qualcomm processor instead of the homebrew Exynos chipset.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy M51 comes with a glass front and plastic back, which is not uncommon for smartphones in this price range.

The plastic back on this device looks and feels similar to the glass, but makes it lightweight and less brittle in case of an accidental fall.

This smartphone from Samsung weighs just 213g, and considering the massive 7000mAh battery inside this device is surprisingly lightweight.

The single speaker, USB type C charging port and the 3.5mm headphone jack is present in the bottom portion of the phone while the right side has the fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button and the volume rockers on top.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 features a 2+1 SIM configuration meaning you can insert two SIM cards and a dedicated SD card for storage expansion.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 boasts of a 6.7-inch FHD+ sAMOLED Plus display with an effective resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

The company claims that the sAMOLED Plus panel is thinner and lighter than the conventional AMOLED panels found on other M series devices from the past.

This display is protected by the Corning gorilla glass 3 to prevent accidental scratches.

With a punch-hole camera upfront, this display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display has a pixel density of 385ppi.

The colours look very vivid and punchy and the contrast levels, being an OLED display is outstanding.

Speaking of the brightness levels, this display gets adequately bright indoors as well outdoors.

Processor and Performance

As we mentioned earlier, Samsung has decided to go the Qualcomm route with this device.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 is powered by the Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and is assisted by the Adreno 618 GPU.

The 730G is one of the power-efficient processors with exceptional performance metrics in this price segment.

Together with the 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, this smartphone will deliver buttery smooth performance no matter what you throw at it.

The One UI2.0 on top of Android 10 is optimized very well not to create any sort of performance bottlenecks whatsoever.

This premium mid-range smartphone comes with a quad rear camera setup with a primary 64MP Sony sensor accompanied by 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth-sensing unit.

The images and videos that come out of these cameras look very rich in details and colour accurate.

You can record 4K videos at 30fps with the rear camera while the front camera maxes out at 1080p @ 30fps.

The front camera is a 32MP shooter with HDR support and an aperture size of f/2.0 for good daylight selfies and decent low light photos.

Battery Life

Samsung Galaxy M51 is one of them, perhaps the only 7000mAh battery-powered smartphone available in India at present.

This monstrous battery helps this smartphone to last easily for two days even with heavy usage.

Samsung has also added support for reverse charging. With this feature, you can use the M51 to charge other devices in the vicinity via the supplied USB type C cable.

The company has also included a 25W fast charger in the box which will completely juice up this battery from zero to hundred within two hours.

The Samsung M51 is one of a kind smartphone for those who want a battery monster device without any compromise on performance.

The AMOLED display and the non-Chinese brand factor is also a big factor worth considering while purchasing this device.

Sleek and Attractive Smartphone
  • Gorgeous FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Good battery life
  • Excellent front and rear cameras

The F17 Pro is one of the latest smartphones from the Oppo stable to hit the Indian market.

Priced well under Rs.25,000, the company advertises the Oppo F17 pro as a photography champion in this segment, which we will discuss in detail below.

Design and Build Quality

The Oppo F17 Pro is arguably one of the best-looking devices in this price segment.

Weighing at just 164g and with a thickness of just 7.5mm, the Oppo F17 Pro is a delight to use when most other smartphones in this price range weigh 200g+.

This device has a matte finish plastic back with a subtle gradient design and a hue colour finish towards the edges.

In the rear, the four-camera square setup reminds of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The LED flash sits flush to the body besides the camera bump.

Since this device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, the power and the volume rockers are of standard format with excellent tactile feedback and responsiveness.

There is the regular 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker and the USB Type C port present and accounted for in the bottom section.

The Oppo F17 Pro features a 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has an impressive screen to body ratio of 84.9%, delivering an immersive UI experience.

Being an OLED panel, the colours are rich and vivid, the contrasts levels are expectational and the brightness levels are on par with other competitor smartphones.

This is however a standard 60Hz refresh rate panel, but that is not at all a deal-breaker, to be honest.

This display is protected by Corning gorilla glass 3+ for preventing accidental scratches.

Processor and Performance

What powers this device is a MediaTek Helio P95 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz.
This isn’t the most powerful processor out there at this price point, but the performance is satisfactory and without any noticeable lags or stutters.

With the 8GB onboard RAM and 128GB of UFS2.1 storage, everyday performance, gaming and multitasking work buttery smooth without any issues.

Camera prowess is one area that Oppo has been heavily banking on with the Oppo F17 pro.

In terms of video, the back cameras can record 4K videos up to 30fps while the front camera has a maximum video recording resolution capped at 1080p at 30fps.

Battery Life

Inside the Oppo F17 Pro is a 4015mAh Li-Po battery which will last you for a day and a half easily with moderate to heavy usage.

Oppo ships a 30W VOOC certified fast charger in the box which will help you juice up the device in and around 1-hour mark.

The Oppo F17 Pro is a sleek and elegant smartphone with pretty good cameras and build quality for a price tag of just Rs. 22,990.

  • Long-lasting battery
  • 64MP AI quad camera

POCO is an independent sub-brand of Xiaomi which released the widely successful POCO F1 smartphone that is considered a legend to this day among the consumers.

The POCO F1 offered amazing hardware at an unbelievable price and the users have been asking for the next iteration for God knows how long.

Finally, the company decided to launch the POCO X2 smartphone, again at an incredible price tag costing well under Rs.20,000.

Design and Build Quality

The POCO X2 shares an uncanny resemblance with the 5G capable Redmi K30 smartphone.

The glass sandwich design looks very elegant and feels premium in hand. POCO went the notch-less way with the double punch-hole front camera setup to increase the available screen real estate.

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack for those with a wired headphone, so don’t worry about investing extra on a Bluetooth headphone.

Overall the build quality of the POCO X2 is commendable for the price and it won’t be too much to say, this device is an absolute steal for your money.

As we have earlier mentioned, the all-new POCO X2 comes with a double punch-hole display, which is the new trend among smartphone manufacturers.

This is a large 6.67-inch full HD+ reality flow display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The scrolling and transitions feel buttery smooth on this device and it is almost sure that after using a 120Hz display, going back to a traditional 60Hz device will be hard.

The colours look very natural and vivid and the brightness levels are on par with the competitors in the same price range.

This display is protected by the latest iteration of Corning Gorilla glass. Not only the protection covers the display but also the rear as well.

Processor and Performance

The POCO X2 comes loaded with the gaming-oriented Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC clocked at 2.2GHz.

This chipset delivers exceptional graphics as well as multitasking performance coupled with the 8GB RAM and the 128GB UFS2.1 storage.

Battery Life

The POCO X2 is powered by a 4500mAh Li-ion battery to accommodate its powerful processor and the 120Hz display.

The phone lasts comfortably over a day and half of heavy usage. The supplied 27W fast charger juices up the device pretty fast as well.

If you don’t mind the lack of an OLED panel, the POCO X2 is one of the best devices you can get your hands on for a budget under Rs.20,000.

The long-lasting battery, 120Hz display and the 64MP quad-camera deliver an amazing value for money prospect with this device.

13. Realme 7 Pro

Best Budget Smartphone
  • Gorgeous FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Powerful Snapdragon 730G CPU
  • 65W super dart fast charging

Realme has been closely trailing behind Redmi for a while in the smartphone market.

With the all-new Realme 7 Pro, the company has upped the ante in the budget smartphone segment with cutting edge features that were once reserved for higher-end flagship devices.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 7 pro is characterized by a single punch-hole display and a gradient coloured polycarbonate back body with a matte finish glass design.

The phone weighs just 182 grams and feels light and durable in hand. This phone is relatively light when compared to the Redmi Note 9 pro max and the Poco X2 and has a more one-hand usage friendly design.

The fingerprint sensor this time is located on the side and doubles up as a power button.

The front display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ for advanced scratch protection.

Realme has also given a splash-resistant coating on top of the glass to repel light water drops from sticking on the surface.

The standard set of features such as the USB type C port and the 3.5mm headphone jack is present and accounted for as well.

The display is one of the unique features of this smartphone priced under Rs.20,000.

The dual single punch-hole display looks similar to that to certain premium Samsung smartphones.

The Realme 7 Pro features a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 411ppi.

The display looks very sharp and the colours turn out to be natural and vivid.

Thanks to the excellent contrast levels, you’ll get to see inky deep blacks and popping colours that will deliver you a delightful media consumption experience.

Unlike the predecessor, the Pro version has to suffice with the standard 60Hz refresh rate which is a bit of a disappointment, to be honest, but not at all a deal-breaker of any sorts.

Processor and Performance

The Realme 7 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is custom-tuned for enhanced gaming performance.

The 6GB RAM and the super-fast 128GB UFS2.1 storage will help you experience the best of mobile computing performance in the sub. Rs.20,000 price segment.

Speaking of the thermals, the phone gets slightly warm with extended hours of gaming, but nothing serious enough to throttle the performance.

The Realme 7 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear and dual cameras in the front.

The main 64MP camera comes with a 1/1.8 aperture sensor for better low light photography.

There is also an 8MP ultra-wide sensor followed by the 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor.

The images come out clean and detailed in daylight and with respectable performance in the dark.

Talking about the video, there is electronic image stabilization to keep your footage steady and smooth.

The front 32MP camera offers excellent selfies with realistic bokeh effects. Additionally, this camera also supports EIS for videos.

The Realme 7 Pro runs on the all-new Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10. This custom skin is much more refined than the previous Color OS which realme phones shipped with in the past.

This budget Android smartphone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner – thanks to the AMOLED display.

This newer generation scanner is fast and accurate to unlock your device just as quick as a physical scanner would do.

Battery Life

The Realme 7 Pro is powered by a 4500mAh battery that will easily last over a day with heavy usage.

To make things better, there is the 65W super dart fast charging support with the charger available in the box.

This charger will completely juice up the battery from zero to hundred per cent within 40 minutes flat.

The Realme 7 Pro is a fantastic value for money smartphone perfect for resource-intensive tasks such as gaming.

The gorgeous AMOLED along with the powerful processor and long-lasting battery makes it a champ in its price segment.

14. Motorola One Fusion+

Budget Stock Android Smartphone
  • HDR10 certified FHD+ display
  • Powerful Snapdragon 730G processor
  • Long-lasting 5000mAh battery

Motorola was lagging behind the competitors in the smartphone market once Lenovo acquired it from Google.

The all-new Motorola One Fusion+ is a sign of Motorola trying to up its ante against brands like Xiaomi and Realme to capture the lost foothold in the market.

Design and Build Quality

The Motorola One Fusion+ has a glass front and plastic back shell with a polycarbonate plastic frame in between.

The backplate has a lined pattern with glass-like subtle glossy texture which looks and feels good.

This smartphone has a dedicated button to summon Google voice assistant. The fingerprint scanner rests on the rear at a comfortable position within normal hand reach.

The USB type C port is placed in the button portion along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and the speaker grill.

Since this device features a pop-up selfie camera, the display has no notches or cutouts to obstruct a seamless UI experience.

The Motorola One Fusion+ features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with HDR10. This is one of the best displays in this segment, with vivid and bright colour reproduction and inky deep blacks.

This is the only sub. Rs.20,000 smartphone with Youtube signature device certification, capable of playing HDR10 youtube content in all its glory.

Since there is no notch or cutouts in the display, the Motorola One Fusion+ delivers an immersive media consumption experience.

This device also comes with Widevine L1 certification for full HD Netflix and Amazon prime video playback.

Processor and Performance

This budget smartphone from Motorola runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset.

Along with the 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage, this CPU performs flawlessly.

The gaming performance is smooth with all the popular titles such as PUBG and COD which are currently in trend.

The multitasking and day to day casual usage is buttery smooth, thanks to the Android 10 OS with almost zero customization.

The Motorola One Fusion+ has a familiar quad camera setup in the rear, now common with most devices in this price point.

The primary sensor is the 64MP one with f/1.8, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP macro camera with autofocus and a 2MP depth-sensing unit.

This device is capable of recording 4k videos at 30fps and full HD videos at 120fps. You can even use the macro camera for video recording.

When it comes to the front, a motorized 16MP pop-up selfie camera does the job without any issues.

The images and videos appear adequately detailed and colour accurate. The post-processing is minimal, which helps the camera to retain most of the natural colours we see with our eyes.

This device comes with a dedicated audio DAC for 32-bit audio playback via wired earphones and headphones.

Battery Life

The Motorola One Fusion+ is powered by a 5000mAh battery which Motorola claims to have a standby time of 23 days.

You can get over a day and a half with heavy usage like gaming and video consumption with this device.

Motorola provides an 18W fast charger in the box which, by today’s standards is not that fast but can expedite the charging process quite a bit.

We feel that the Motorola One Fusion+ is a winner in this price segment with all the right elements to be the best in the business.

15. Poco M2 Pro

Budget Gaming Smartphone
  • Powerful Snapdragon 720G processor
  • Long-lasting 5020mAh battery life
  • HDR10 certified FHD+ IPS display

Poco M2 Pro is a confusing product, to be honest as the internal hardware and the design exactly mirrors the Redmi Note 9 Pro available already in the Indian market for the same price.

Priced under Rs.15,000, the Poco M2 Pro is a budget Android smartphone powered by the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G – a budget powerhouse processor.

Design and Build Quality

The Poco M2 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro look and feel as if they are almost the same devices albeit the different branding in the back.

The Poco M2 features a glass sandwich design with a plastic frame in between.

Both the front and rear glass is protected by Corning gorilla glass 5 to save the device from accidental scratches.

The rear section of the Poco M2 Pro houses the quad-camera setup inside a square enclosure that raises from the body a bit. Below the camera enclosure is the LED flash for low light photography.

The fingerprint scanner is one the right side of the phone and sits right on top of the power button along with the volume rockers on top.

The lower portion of the M2 Pro is where the 3.5mm headphone jack, single speaker, USB Type C charging port and the primary microphone can be found.

Up top, there is the IR blaster along with a secondary noise-cancelling microphone for clearer voice calls.

The Poco M2 Pro features a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a centre punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter.

With an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the screen to body ratio of 84.5%, this IPS LCD panel with HDR10 support is one of the best displays in this price segment for media consumption.

The colours appear vivid and punchy, contrast levels are decent and the peak brightness of 450 nits makes it usable both indoors and outdoors alike.

Processor and Performance

The Poco M2 Pro is powered by the same 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor found on the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

This octa-core processor coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB UFS2.1 storage makes the device perform faster than ever before.

Games run with consistent frame rates, media playback is smooth and thanks to the 8nm process, the CPU remains relatively cool all through these tasks.

The Quad-rear camera on the Poco M2 Pro consists of a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter followed by a 5MP macro and 2 MP depth-sensing unit.

The performance in the camera department is decent to say the best as there are a few shortcomings such as inaccurate edge detection, saturation issues etc.

However, these issues can be easily addressed with software updates and we hope Poco will soon iron out these minor bugs.

The rear camera can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. However, the EIS is limited only up to 1080p at 30fps.

This device also allows you to manually set the video parameters just like the pro mode for still photos. You can even capture videos in LOG to colour grade the video later.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor featuring HDR support for selfies with good dynamic range.

The Poco M2 Pro runs on MIUI 11 designed especially for Poco devices. The only major difference is the addition of the Poco launcher instead of the Mi launcher.

Poco devices will not feature spammy ads like their Redmi counterparts, so that’s a major benefit with Poco M2 Pro when compared with the Redmi Note 9 pro.

Battery Life

What runs the show on Poco M2 Pro is a massive 5020mAh Li-ion battery which will last you for up to two days of moderate to heavy usage.

The bundled 33W fast charger will juice up this battery within 1-1.5 hours flat.

If you like the specs of the Redmi Note 9 Pro but failed to grab on to one during the flash sales, consider buying the Poco M2 Pro.

It is the same device with a 33W fast charger bundled in the box.

16. Samsung Galaxy M01

Honourable Mention
  • Easy to use OneUI interface
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • Decent everyday performance

Samsung has been consistently outnumbered in sales of budget segment smartphones by Xiaomi for a while now.

This was mainly because the Samsung budget phones were specced abysmally and the price for the same was significantly higher than its Chinese counterparts in the segment.

Samsung tries to bridge this gap by introducing the affordable yet feature-rich M series smartphone of which the M01 is the entry-level offering.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy M01 is made from a polycarbonate plastic shell with a glossy finish which looks decent for the price tag it carries.

The build quality seems quite OK for the price and matches the competition.

The rounded corners and edges help this phone to be easily held in the hand and aides better one-hand usability.

The rear side of the phone houses the dual cameras assisted with an LED flash.

The Galaxy M01 comes with a micro-USB port for charging and data syncing and has a 3.5mm jack for plugging in earphones and headphones.

This budget entry-level smartphone has a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.

The company fondly calls this display as an infinity V display, thanks to the waterdrop notch in the front.

The 19:9 display has a screen to body ratio of 77% and comes with a pixel density of around 295 ppi.

The display is sufficiently bright and the colours look vivid for the price.

Processor and Performance

The Samsung Galaxy M01 packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset clocked at 2.0GHz.

This processor coupled with 3GB of RAM runs all the casual applications with relative ease and no stutters.

However, the limited RAM might exhibit lags if you are planning to heavily multitask or play memory-intensive games on this device.

Apart from the 32GB internal storage, this device comes with a dedicated SD card slot which can take cards up to 128GB.

This dual SIM budget Android smartphones have two SIM slots and support dual VoLTE.

This smartphone has a 13MP + 2MP rear camera setup of which the 2MP is a depth sensor which helps you take portrait mode shots.

The front 5MP shooter does its job in well-lit conditions to say the best.

Battery Life

Powering the Samsung Galaxy M01 is a 4000mAh Li-Po battery which is rated to last for two days worth of moderate to heavy usage.

Thanks to the non-full-HD display, the battery life on this device is quite impressive.

If you are in search of a branded budget smartphone with unmatched reliability, the Samsung Galaxy M01 is one of the best phones available under Rs.10,000.
