2. IQOO 3

Runner-Up Pick
  • Excellent OLED display
  • UFS 3.1 storage
  • Long-lasting 4400mAh battery

IQOO is a sub-brand of Vivo dealing with flagship-grade smartphones.

IQOO has been marketing their smartphones in China for a while now and recently decided to foray into the competitive Indian smartphone market with the all-new 5G enables IQOO 3.

Design and Build Quality

With a glass front and back form factor sandwiched between an aluminium frame, this phone feels sturdy and durable with high-quality materials used for its construction.

The IQOO 3 has Gorilla Glass 6 protection in the front and the rear. There are two pressure-sensitive buttons on this phone for acting as trigger buttons during gaming.

Additionally, IQOO has given an AI button to launch the Google voice assistant.

The quality of construction of this phone is very much on par with other flagships and offers a durable and robust feel in hand.

The IQOO 3 packs in a tall 6.44-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This HDR10 enabled display covers a screen to body ratio of about 84.3% and has a pixel density of 409ppi.

This HDR10+ display offers excellent colour reproduction and dynamic range to ensure the best immersive media consumption experience.

Being an OLED display, the rich blacks add vibrancy to the already perfect visual treat by the screen.

The IQOO 3 also comes with a 180Hz touch sampling rate which improves the touch accuracy.

Processor and Performance

The IQOO 3 packs in the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G processor made from the 7nm manufacturing process for powerful performance coupled with power efficiency.

With the 12GB onboard RAM and 256GB internal storage, this smartphone comes second to none in terms of raw performance.

Bet it multitasking or intense gaming sessions, the IQOO 3 will continue to perform without breaking a sweat.

The IQOO 3 features a quadruple rear camera setup. The main 48MP sensor has an aperture size of 1/1.8 and comes with phase detection autofocus.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor which comes with AI integration features for better-looking selfies and portraits.

The IQOO 3 has an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device.
Compared to previous generation in-display scanners, the one on this device feels adequately fast and accurate.

3. Apple iPhone 11 Pro

Best iPhone
  • Smooth UI and OS
  • Excellent camera system
  • Superfast and secure Face ID

The iPhone 11 Pro is the latest flagship smartphone from Apple announced last week.

This latest iteration of the iPhone brings some significant improvements over the last flagship, making it the best possible smartphone available in the entire world.

Design and build quality

The iPhone 11 Pro carries over the popular design of the original iPhone X and looks minimal and premium at the same time.

The display is a lot bigger and will satisfy those who crave for more screen real estate for an immersive experience.

As with the iPhone 11 Pro, this phone also got away with the touch ID and relies solely on face ID to unlock the device. It now works faster and more reliably, thanks to the improvements in the hardware optimizations.

The glass front and back build are now a lot tougher and scratch resistant with the Corning gorilla glass 6 and has been receiving praises from online reviewers regarding this.

There are dual speakers on this phone and the stereo effect is evident with the sound output. The sound is very louder than the previous versions and with no distortions per se.

The display has now received a spec bump, in the sense that it is now a 5.8-inch Quad HD super retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels.

This gives the screen a pixel density of about 458ppi, which makes it one of the best in the business.

As expected, this panel is HDR10 and Dolby vision supported panel and comes with an exciting 120Hz refresh rate.

Apple has optimized this display to output wonderful images and videos with exceptional clarity and details.

You’ll find no trouble using this phone in the direct sunlight with the AMOLED panel reaching peak brightness levels of 800nits.

The screen to body ratio of this iPhone is 82.1%, which means the only substantial thing that breaks the continuity is the notch up top.

No, you can’t hide the notch and would have to bear with it while watching videos on this smartphone.

Processor and performance

Apple is a front-runner in the mobile chipset industry and its chips perform better than the likes of Snapdragon and MediaTek.

The iPhone 11 Pro features the latest Apple A13 Bionic SoC manufactured on a 7nm process that outperforms Snapdragon 855 by a relatively huge margin.

The performance is fluid and lightning-fast with 4GB RAM and the superfast 256GB UFS storage adds to it.

The four core Apple GPU performs exceptionally well in graphics-intensive tasks and delivers excellent performance while gaming.

The only downside of this powerful internals is with the glass back that is not as efficient as the metal back in dissipating the heat.

Apple rivals Samsung when it comes to camera technology.

The iPhone11 Pro features a triple 12MP camera unit at the back of which apart from the primary sensor one is an f/1.8 ultrawide angle sensor and the other is a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens.

Both these primary and ultrawide lenses have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The quality of images and videos that comes out of these lenses are very pleasing and has natural colours and a wide dynamic range.

The videos are stabilized and can shoot up to 4K at 60fps.

The front camera consists of dual 12MP sensors that take high-quality selfies and portrait mode snaps.

The dedicated image processor does eliminate the noise in the images and videos and smoothens the textures to give a more natural-looking shot.

Battery life

The battery on this iPhone 11 Pro is a non-removable 3190 mAh Li-ion cell that isn’t a significant upgrade from the yesteryear flagship model.

The OLED display and the highly optimized iOS 13 doesn’t drain battery like Android phones and can last easily over a day with moderate usage. Apple claims that the iPhone 11 Pro will last up to 5 hours more than the iPhone XS Max.

Also with features like wireless charging and fast charging support, the device can be easily juiced up.

The iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone that you can buy in the market if you want a beast in terms of raw performance.

Excellent software support and durable build quality make this device worth the premium you pay for it.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

Best Smartphone for Professionals
  • Powerful processor
  • Capable camera unit
  • Excellent battery life

Samsung’s Note series was the first to usher the large-screen smartphone niche in the world.

Before the original Note came along, people were a bit sceptical about a large display on a phone that they’d carry around daily in their pockets.

The Galaxy Note 10 Plys is the latest and greatest addition to the Note family and is probably the best till date.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is more of a professional workhorse rather than a typical smartphone.

The features and the design is targeted at people who want more productivity on the go.

The industrial design is very much similar to the previous Samsung Note series phones which in itself is a great thing because those phones looked dope.

The glass back and the seamlessly integrated infinity display makes this phone look like a stunning marvel worth drooling about.

The build quality is top-notch with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 covering the glass, both in the front and the back for protection.

Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on this smartphone.

Samsung makes the best displays in the entire world. Period.

The Galaxy Note 10 Plus comes with a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels.

The colours look vivid and punchy.

The wide colour gamut of this panel makes the colours to be as close to the natural colour palette.

The brightness levels are excellent and the sunlight legibility isn’t a thing to worry about.

As Samsung named it, this 6.8-inch infinity display curves on to the back shell seamlessly and makes the device look and feel premium in hand.

The only issue we had with this device was its one-hand usability.

Since it’s a large display, people with relatively small fingers will find it difficult to access the far-reaching corners of the display with a single hand.

The Samsung Note 10 Plus comes with a dual rear camera setup that comprises two 12MP sensors and a 16MP sensor.

One of the sensors is a telephoto one with 2x optical zoom capability.

And the 16MP sensor is an ultrawide angle one.

The is OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for both the primary and the telephoto cameras.

The images that come out of these sensors look great and detailed.

The colour saturation is excellent with minimal noise.

The front 10MP camera has dual PDAF autofocus and takes selfies with good details as well.

Processor and Performance

This device in India features a homebrewed Exynos 9825 Octa-core processor inside.

This chipset is fast and reliable for gaming as well as other resource-intensive tasks to run smoothly.

There will be no sort of lags or stutters while multitasking with apps, thanks to the ample 12GB RAM onboard.

The powerful chipset with Android Pie optimizations makes this device one of the fastest performing devices in the market at present.

The 12GB variant comes with 512GB of onboard memory.

Battery Life

The Note 10 Plus packs a large 4300mAh Li-ion battery inside. This is almost a 30% increase in capacity when compared with the Note 9 which had a 4000mAh cell inside.

Even with heavy usage, this big-screen beast can last over a day and a half comfortably and then some.

With fast charging support, this device can get charged up pretty quickly as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is the best productivity smartphone that money can buy at present.

The phone comes with a wireless stylus that lets you do a plethora of stuff so easily which you will find quite strenuous with fingers.

The long-lasting battery and the excellent display makes it gaming as well as media consumption device as well.

So in short, productivity and entertainment can go hand in hand with this latest offering from Samsung.

Budget Flagship Smartphone
  • Best in class Snapdragon 865 processor
  • 90Hz fluid AMOLED display
  • 30W dash charging support

OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone brand popular for its affordable flagships that often beat the big players in the market.

The OnePlus 8 is the latest incremental hardware update to the popular OnePlus 7 with almost all the good features retained and then added some that make this phone more likeable.

Design and Build Quality

In the never-ending battle of increased screen real estate, companies started relying on motorized front cameras to avoid notch.

But with this iteration of the 8 series phones, Oneplus has punch hole camera design which we honestly prefer over motorized cameras any day.

The chin size has been reduced slightly to make the display seem to stretch across the front side.

The quality of construction is top-notch and the attention to detail is very much evident from the fit and finish of this display.

Processor and Performance

Inside this device, what powers the show is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor.

This flagship processor from Qualcomm along with the Adreno 650 GPU performs everything you throw at it with relative ease.

Be it gaming or any other resource-intensive tasks such as video/photo editing, the device performs exceptionally well without any lags.

The Oxygen OS that runs on top of the base Android 10.0 Q is very minimal and adds only the necessary features without bloating the interface too much.

This makes the operations smooth and fast and also aids in achieving better battery life.

The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a punch-hole camera cutout. This full HD panel looks fantastic with true to life colour reproduction and excellent contrast levels.

This being a 90Hz refresh rate display, the animations and the interface altogether feels silky smooth.

This is by far the best looking 1080p AMOLED panel in any smartphone in the market. Nifty additions like a super-fast facial recognition, which works extremely well and the dedicated gaming mode improve the usability of the device to the next level.

The fingerprint scanner now resides in the lower half of the display and works well to unlock the device from sleep.

There is a slight delay to unlock when compared with physical fingerprint scanners but the technology is still evolving, so it’s just the way it will be.

This device comes with a triple 48MP + 16MP + 2MP camera at the rear and a 16MP front camera.

The 48MP sensor in the rear features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady smooth shots. Electronic Image stabilisation is present as well.

The 16MP camera is an ultra-wide sensor with a wide field of view for capturing landscapes and buildings.

The 2MP is the macro mode shooter for close up shots. The OnePlus 8 can record 4K video at 60fps with gyro EIS enabled.

The front 16M shooter is HDR enabled and can record electronically stabilized 1080p videos at 30fps.

The pictures taken by the camera are rich in detail and exhibit great dynamic range.

Both the front and rear cameras perform great in good lighting conditions but the same can’t be said about the front camera.

Battery Life

This device has 4300mAh Li-ion battery that will last for a day and a half on moderate to heavy usage.

The renowned 30W dash charge support makes it easy to juice up the battery within no time.

OnePlus 8 is a value for money smartphone that offers flagship internals at an affordable price.

This device is well built and the overall construction feels premium and durable.

The AMOLED display with great colours and a capable camera along with continuous software support from the company makes this device one of the best phones available in the market.

6. Motorola Edge Plus

Best Build Quality
  • Flagship Snapdragon 865 processor
  • UFS3.0 ultra-fast internal storage
  • 90Hz OLED waterfall display

Motorola has been quite silent when it comes to the flagship Android smartphone scene but with the Razr foldable and now with the Edge Plus smartphone it seems they are back with a bang.

The Edge Plus from Motorola is a true flagship grade Android smartphone comparable to the likes of Samsung S20 series.

Design and Build Quality

The Motorola Edge Plus features the familiar glass sandwich design that we are familiar with.

The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected front and back panels have an oleophobic coating to repel water droplets easily.

This smartphone is considerably narrower than all other flagships and this makes holding the phone with one hand a delightful experience.

Another important point to note here is that the Edge plus does feature a 3.5mm jack, which almost unheard of when it comes to flagship smartphones.

As the name suggests, the Edge plus has a rounded screen which curves into the glass back, which looks and feels unique as well as premium.

Overall, the construction and build quality are top-notch on this device, as expected from a flagship Android smartphone.

The Motorola Edge plus features a massive 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate.

This display covers around 96% of the front of the phone and also curves into the back glass.

This HDR10 certified OLED panel can display up to 10 billion colours. The colours pop out to your face and the contrast levels are excellent.

The 90Hz refresh rate ensures the visuals and the interface in total feels silky smooth and refined.

Edge plus utilizes the waterfall curved portion of the display for edge lighting notifications, which is cool and very practical when the phone is kept on top of a table or somewhere.

Processor and Performance

This device is powered by the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor built on a 7nm process for better power efficiency.

With 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS3.0 storage, this smartphone performs as well as the Samsungs and One Plus devices out there.

The Adreno 650 is now beefier to handle graphics and gaming,

With specs and raw performance matching a mid-range laptop, you won’t have any trouble using this phone anytime soon.

This flagship smartphone from Motorola has a 108MP primary sensor in the rear with OIS for stabilized photos and videos.

Additionally, there is the 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for long-distance photography followed by a 16MP ultra-wide sensor which can also double up as a macro camera.
The portrait and bokeh mode shots take leverage of the 3D TOF ( time of flight ) sensor for accurate depth data.

The front camera is a 25MP sensor with HDR for high dynamic range selfie shots.

The images and videos turn out to have excellent details and colour accuracy. The OIS helps in reducing the jitters and shakes significantly.

Even with the ultra-wide sensor, there is not much colour noise. One of the important things to note is that the rear camera can record 6K videos at 30fps, although it is an overkill, to be honest.

Battery Life

The Motorola Edge Plus packs in a 5000mAh battery to power up the beefy internals inside.

This battery will easily last for a day worth of heavy usage before you need to plug in the device.

This device supports wireless charging and also has the reverse wireless charging feature which might come in handy at times.

Motorola bundles an 18W fast charger in the box, which is quite an irony considering the price.

The Motorola Edge Plus is a well-built smartphone with best in class internals.

It also has a significant advantage of having the near-stock Android 10 OS, untouched with bloatwares and fancy UI skins.

This premium Android smartphone despite having some trimmer down internals when compared to the other S10 variants, does pack enough punch to be included in our best smartphones list.

Design and Build Quality

The S10 Lite is a cute little smartphone with a great in-hand feel and excellent build quality.

The main difference of this model with the higher-priced siblings is that it now packs a flat display with slightly curved edges but not as perfect as the ones in the S10 and the S10 Plus.

The bezels around the display are very minimal and feature a screen to body ratio of over 87%.

The overall fit and finish of this smartphone is as great as any other phone in this price segment and will suit those who are fond of budget phones with powerful internals.

The S10 Lite packs a slightly bigger 6.7-inch super AMOLED punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The presence of a notch is avoided by cutting out a small hole in the display to house the single front camera, which by the way looks cleaner.

The quality of the display is excellent and almost matches the displays found on S10 and S10 Plus.

This 394 ppi HDR+ display has deep inky blacks and vivid and vibrant colour reproduction which will let you enjoy the on-screen content wholeheartedly.

Feature-Rich Android Smartphone
  • Flagship Snapdragon 855+ processor
  • An excellent quality AMOLED display

Realme is fighting tooth and nails with the Redmi lineup it seems. Whenever Redmi comes up with a smartphone that awws the market, Realme quickly follows the same.

This time the Realme comes with the Realme X2 Pro which is the flagship model launched as the successor to the original Realme X2.

Design and Build Quality

14. Samsung Galaxy M31

Best Battery Life

  • Long-lasting battery

The galaxy M31 is the latest mid-range online-only M series android smartphone from Samsung to take on the competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Realme.

The phone feels very light in hand considering the battery size and thanks to its rounded corners, it feels very lightweight and easy to hold in one hand.

Processor and Performance

The Galaxy M31 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 9611 octa-core processor supplemented by the Mali-G72 GPU.

The latest Android 10.0 Q OS with Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top is very well optimized for performance improvements when compared to the previous iterations.

This smartphone comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear. Yes, a quad camera under sub. Rs.20,000, that too from Samsung.

The primary camera on the rear is a 64MP shooter with an aperture size of f/1.8 for better low light performance.

The secondary sensor is an 8MP ultrawide shooter, which is one of a kind in this price bracket.

15. Redmi Note 9 Pro

Mid-Range Gaming Smartphone
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • Stunning quality images and videos from the camera
  • Continuous MIUI feature updates

Redmi Note 9 Pro is the successor to the popular Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone that was launched in the last year.

The notable difference between the two is that Redmi this time has gone back to the Qualcomm Snapdragon series processor instead of the MediaTek G series it experimented with the Note 8 Pro.

Build Quality and Design

For a premium budget smartphone priced under Rs.20,000, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has an exceptional build quality. The all-glass body feels firm and easy to hold in hand.

The curved edges help this comparatively large device easy to hold and operate with a single hand.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro looks similar to many of the expensive flagships in the market with a central quad camera set up at the back and a punch-hole display upfront.

What makes this device stand out from the pack is the inclusion of a liquid cooling technology that will avoid the device from getting hot while gaming or any other intense resource-hungry operations.

Processor and Performance

Most of the mid-range smartphones today feature perfectly capable, but not necessarily high-end processors.

This is slowly changing with smartphone manufactures including powerful chips even inside the mid-range devices for better performance.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with the top of the line mid-range Snapdragon 720G processor for under Rs.20,000.

This beast is supported by a fast LPDDRX 6GB RAM to chew through whatever apps or games you throw at it.

This device also comes with a 128GB storage and gives the option to increase the storage capacity by a dedicated SIM slot.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a large 6.67-inch full HD+ display which reproduces stunning lifelike images with true to life colours.

This IPS display has excellent viewing angles and gives a sharp and crisp output, thanks to the 403 ppi pixel density even with this large size.

The display has a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. It looks much better than the notches in our opinion.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes loaded with a rear quad camera setup. This AI quad-camera setup consists of a primary 48MP camera followed by 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro mode shooter.

Thanks to the AI image processing, the Redmi Note 9 Pro delivers one of the best looking images and videos in its price segment.

The front camera is a 16MP shooter capable of delivering clear selfies even in low-light environments.

The only gripe we had with the camera department is that there is no Optical Image Stabilization available.

Battery Life

The Redmi Note 9 Pro has 5020mAh Li-ion battery inside which will easily last over a day even with heavy use.

Xiaomi is already known for including higher capacity batteries on all their smartphones

This time the company has even bundled a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 certified 18W fast charger that will let you charge the device even faster.

If you can get a hold of a unit while the lottery-like flash sales in Flipkart, this might be the best mobile money can buy in recent times.

The absolute beast of a performer, the Snapdragon 720G is the centrepiece of all attractions and definitely won’t fail your expectations – be it multitasking or gaming.

With the slightly modified, less cartoony MIUI interface, you are going to get a plethora of customization options as well.

Feature Packed Budget Smartphone
  • 90Hz full HD+ display
  • 4300mAh long-lasting battery
  • Powerful MediaTek G90T CPU

Realme 6 comes as a successor to the ever-popular Realme 5 which made waves in the budget smartphone market in India.

The Realme 6 packs in a lot of features which you won’t find on any other smartphones in India priced in the sub. Rs.15,000 category.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 6 has a plastic back with a textured finish, which almost looks like glass from a distance.

The front display is protected with Corning gorilla glass 3 for scratch resistance. The plastic frame around the chassis blends well with the display, making it easy to hold the phone in hand.

The fingerprint sensor on this device is placed on the side which doubles up as a power button.

Realme 6 has a USB type C port for charging and data transfers located on the bottom portion along with the speaker grill and the 3.5 headphone jack.
The overall fit and finish of this device are one of the best in its price segment.

This is one of the areas where Realme blows away the competition. It features a 6.5-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Get ready to be surprised, this is a 90Hz refresh rate panel with ultra-fluid animations and a staggering 120Hz touch sampling rate for better touch response.

We bet you won’t find anything this significant in the sub Rs.15,000 price range.

The display has a pixel density of 409ppi, which looks crisp. The colours pop out, the blacks look deep and the brightness levels are on par with the competitors.

Be it for media consumption or gaming, this is the best in the business at the moment.

The Realme 6 is powered by the tried and tested MediaTek Helio G90T, that we are familiar with on the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

This octa-core 12nm chipset delivers the exceptional performance complimented by the 64GB UFS2.1 storage and the 4GB LPDDRX RAM.

As this is a gaming-oriented CPU, games like COD, PUBG and Fortnite run smoothly even at maximum settings.

The Realme 6 has a quad-rear camera setup including the 64MP main sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8, aiding better low light photography.
There is an 8MP ultra-wide sensor for capturing images with a wide field of view, a 2MP macro sensor for close-ups and a 2MP depth-sensing unit for portrait mode photos.

The camera app on the Realme OS is fully-fledged with pro mode, thanks to the Camera2 API support.

The images and videos come out very detailed, with natural colours and skin tones.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor which is housed in a punch hole on the display. This camera too performs well with selfies and has a wide-angle perspective for capturing more subjects.

Battery Life

To power such a performance-based CPU and the 90Hz display, Realme has included a 4300mAh battery inside.

This battery will easily last for a day with heavy usage. The company has also included a 30W VOOC fast charger in the box which is advertised to juice up the battery completely from zero to hundred in 2 hours.

The Realme 6 is one hell of a deal for a budget under Rs.15,000. A powerful processor, quad-camera setup and a gorgeous 90Hz full HD+ display is quite a lot to ask for this price.

17. Infinix Hot 9 Pro

Cheap Smartphone
  • Quad rear camera
  • 5000mAh long-lasting battery
  • Decent HD+ IPS display

Infinix is a Hongkong based company popular for its budget smartphones in developing countries.

The Infinix Hot 9 Pro packs in the most value for money internals when it comes to a smartphone priced under Rs.10,000.

Design and Build Quality

The Infinix Hot 9 Pro has a modern design pleasing to the eyes for a phone costing under Rs.10,000.

The construction is of plastic, but that doesn’t make the device cheap in hand.

The glossy plastic back has a textures design which looks attractive under direct light.

The 20:9 display adorns the front has a 2.5G curved finish at the edges making the phone easy to hold in hand.

The Infinix Hot 9 Pro features a large 6.6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels.

This display has a punch hole cutout to house the front camera, giving it a 90% screen to body ratio, quite unheard in its segment.

The display of this smartphone has a peak brightness of 480 nits which is good enough for indoor as well as outdoor usage.

The colours look vivid and the blacks are defined. This is an IPS panel meaning the viewing angles are excellent.

Processor and Performance

The Infinix Hot 9 Pro is powered by a slightly outdated Helio P22 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The processor performs well when it comes to casual usage and multi-tasking but stutters with resource-intensive operations and gaming.

If you’re a hardcore gamer, we don’t recommend this phone. Instead, if you are more into media consumption and normal usage, this is the best buy for the price.

The Infinix Hot 9 Pro features a quad rear camera setup. The main sensor is a 48MP shooter followed by 2MP depth sensor, 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP light sensing unit.

The photos from this setup appear detailed and colour accurate under favourable lighting conditions. This smartphone is capable of recording full HD videos at 30fps as well.

18. Oppo F15

Honourable Mention
  • Full HD+ OLED display
  • Quad-camera setup
  • Long-lasting battery

Oppo has a strong presence in both the online and offline market in the country and often releases new models much faster in India than it does in other regions outside China.

The Oppo F15 is a budget mid-range priced just Rs.25,000 following the new design strategy and has respectable internals that makes it one of the best in the business in its class.

Design and Build Quality

The Oppo F15 has a very eye catchy design that looks amazing at the first look.

The back is made of polycarbonate glass but has a gradient glossy colour design with a gradient back which looks similar to those in the budget Realme devices.

The back is susceptible to scratches so do remember to use a transparent case if you want to conserve the style and that pristine look on your smartphone.

The Oppo F15 features a tall 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. This amounts to about 408ppi and the visuals and text appear sharp and detailed.

Since the display is of 19.5:9 aspect ratio, the phone doesn’t feel too oversized to use with a single hand.

This display offers great contrast levels and deep blacks. The colours are much more natural and vivid as well.

This panel also gets sufficiently bright up to 430 nits which are enough for good sunlight legibility.

The Oppo F15 is powered by the powerful midrange SoC, MediaTek Helio P70 SoC.

With 8GB of RAM, multitasking is great and the device breaks no sweat processing two resource-intensive apps side by side.

The device comes with 128GB of inbuilt UFS 2.1 storage and comes with a dedicated slot for memory cards.

In-display Fingerprint Scanner

The Oppo F15 is perhaps one of the cheapest smartphones which come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Even though this technology is in the nascent stage, it works relatively well and is almost as fast as conventional fingerprint sensors.

In the rear, the Oppo F15 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP black and white sensor and a 2MP depth-sensing unit.

In the front is an f/2.0 16MP shooter with HDR support and auto-focus.

The pictures and videos taken using the rear camera comes out nice in daylight and has very good details and less noise.

The AI mode enhances the front camera selfies with good edge detection and colour tone mapping.

Battery life

The Oppo F15 has 4025mAh Li-ion battery inside which delivers excellent battery life.

Under heavy usage, this phone will last over a day comfortably with enough juice to spare for a couple of hours.
