Q

Heavy

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is the flagship model from the Redmi’s Note series lineup with a 64MP primary camera for photography enthusiasts.

Sporting the exact design and CPU as the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the main differentiating factors on this smartphone are the difference in the primary camera, front camera and the included 33W charging adapter.

Design and Build Quality

For a premium budget smartphone priced under Rs.20,000, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has an exceptional build quality. The all-glass body feels firm and easy to hold in hand.

The curved edges help this comparatively large device easy to hold and operate with a single hand.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max looks similar to many of the expensive flagships in the market with a central quad camera set up at the back and a punch-hole display upfront.

What makes this device stand out from the pack is the inclusion of a liquid cooling technology that will avoid the device from getting hot while gaming or any other intense resource-hungry operations.

Processor and Performance

Most of the mid-range smartphones today feature perfectly capable, but not necessarily high-end processors.

This is slowly changing with smartphone manufactures including powerful chips even inside the mid-range devices for better performance.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes with the top of the line mid-range Snapdragon 720G processor for exceptional performance.

Launching with 6/8GB RAM variants, the Redmi Note 9 Pro max with its super-fast UFS2.1 storage can run apps and games with relative ease.

Display

The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a large 6.67-inch full HD+ display that reproduces stunning lifelike images with true to life colours.

This IPS display has excellent viewing angles and gives a sharp and crisp output, thanks to the 403 ppi pixel density even with this large size.

The display has a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. It looks much better than the notch in our opinion.

Camera

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes loaded with a rear quad camera setup. This AI quad-camera setup consists of a primary 64MP camera followed by 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro mode shooter.

The front camera is a 32MP shooter capable of delivering clear selfies even in low-light environments.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is a beast when it comes to smartphone photography.

The 12MP pixel binned image from the 64MP sensor has a lot of details and comes out with excellent colour accuracy.

Redmi has even included a pro-mode for video enabling you to tweak the camera output further.

Software

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max runs on Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 skin on top. Unfortunately, the MIUI skin comes bloated with a lot of unnecessary apps.

Most of these apps can be manually uninstalled but it remains a major hassle anyway.

Battery Life

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 5020mAh Li-ion battery inside which will easily last over a day even with heavy use.

Xiaomi is already known for including higher capacity batteries on all their smartphones

This time the company has even bundled a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 certified 33W fast charger that will let you charge the device even faster.

Q

A bit bulky

Poco M2 Pro is a confusing product, to be honest as the internal hardware and the design exactly mirrors the Redmi Note 9 Pro available already in the Indian market for the same price.

Priced under Rs.15,000, the Poco M2 Pro is a budget Android smartphone powered by the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G – a budget powerhouse processor.

Design and Build Quality

The Poco M2 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro look and feel as if they are almost the same devices albeit the different branding in the back.

The Poco M2 features a glass sandwich design with a plastic frame in between.

Both the front and rear glass is protected by Corning gorilla glass 5 to save the device from accidental scratches.

The rear section of the Poco M2 Pro houses the quad-camera setup inside a square enclosure that raises from the body a bit. Below the camera enclosure is the LED flash for low light photography.

The fingerprint scanner is one the right side of the phone and sits right on top of the power button along with the volume rockers on top.

The lower portion of the M2 Pro is where the 3.5mm headphone jack, single speaker, USB Type C charging port and the primary microphone can be found.

Up top, there is the IR blaster along with a secondary noise-cancelling microphone for clearer voice calls.

Display

The Poco M2 Pro features a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a centre punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter.

With an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the screen to body ratio of 84.5%, this IPS LCD panel with HDR10 support is one of the best displays in this price segment for media consumption.

The colours appear vivid and punchy, contrast levels are decent and the peak brightness of 450 nits makes it usable both indoors and outdoors alike.

Processor and Performance

The Poco M2 Pro is powered by the same 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor found on the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

This octa-core processor coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB UFS2.1 storage makes the device perform faster than ever before.

Games run with consistent frame rates, media playback is smooth and thanks to the 8nm process, the CPU remains relatively cool all through these tasks.

Camera

The Quad-rear camera on the Poco M2 Pro consists of a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter followed by a 5MP macro and 2 MP depth-sensing unit.

The performance in the camera department is decent to say the best as there are a few shortcomings such as inaccurate edge detection, saturation issues etc.

However, these issues can be easily addressed with software updates and we hope Poco will soon iron out these minor bugs.

The rear camera can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. However, the EIS is limited only up to 1080p at 30fps.

This device also allows you to manually set the video parameters just like the pro mode for still photos. You can even capture videos in LOG to colour grade the video later.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor featuring HDR support for selfies with good dynamic range.

Miscellaneous

The Poco M2 Pro runs on MIUI 11 designed especially for Poco devices. The only major difference is the addition of the Poco launcher instead of the Mi launcher.

Poco devices will not feature spammy ads like their Redmi counterparts, so that’s a major benefit with Poco M2 Pro when compared with the Redmi Note 9 pro.

Battery Life

What runs the show on Poco M2 Pro is a massive 5020mAh Li-ion battery which will last you for up to two days of moderate to heavy usage.

The bundled 33W fast charger will juice up this battery within 1-1.5 hours flat.

Verdict

If you like the specs of the Redmi Note 9 Pro but failed to grab on to one during the flash sales, consider buying the Poco M2 Pro.

It is the same device with a 33W fast charger bundled in the box.

Even though Infinix is a HongKong based mobile phone manufacturer, most of its devices are currently made in India.

The Zero 8i is one of the latest smartphones from Infinix that gives other brands a run for their money when it comes to the value for money proposition.

Infinix Zero 8i is a made in India smartphone priced conveniently at Rs.15,000 offering great performance and more.

Design and Build Quality

The Infinix Zero 8i is built like a tank. The chassis looks thick and bulky but most importantly, the design is eye-catchy.

The entire construction is from polycarbonate materials. The rear section of this smartphone sports a textured matte finish which not only adds grip but also keeps the phone clean from fingerprint smudges.

The gem cut design of the back blends well with the camera unit that houses quad sensors and an assisting LED flash.

Infinix boasts about the liquid cooling technology inside that will keep the internal temperature under check, even under heavy loads.

Weighing 210g, this smartphone feels significantly heavy and you should be careful to avoid the phone from accidentally slipping from your hands.

Infinix Zero 8i has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with the volume rockers on the right side of the middle frame. The USB Type-C charging/data syncing port and 3.5mm audio jack is positioned towards the bottom section of the frame.

Display

The Infinix Zero 8i features a 6.85-inch 90Hz full HD+ punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels.

This high refresh rate panel provides a buttery-smooth visual experience when you scroll through web pages while navigating the UI and playing games. Thanks to the 180Hz touch sampling rate, your touch input will be registered much quicker and accurately, benefiting those who play a lot of games on their smartphone.

The narrow bezels around the display help this smartphone to have an impressive 90.1% screen to body ratio that results in an immersive media consumption experience.

This display has a peak brightness of 480nits, which is sufficient for effortless indoor use.

Processor and Performance

The Infinix Zero 8i comes equipped with the MediaTek Helio G90T, the very first gaming chipset from MediaTek which we had seen with the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

This processor is one of the mid-range gaming champions and packs enough punch to deliver excellent performance without breaking a sweat.

Surprisingly, the Infinix Zero 8i has 8GB RAM inside, which is kind of a first in the sub. Rs.15,000 price segment.

The UFS2.1 128GB storage is fast compared to eMMC storage and loads apps faster, similar to an SSD. There is also a dedicated SD card slot for future memory expansion.

This smartphone from Infinix can handle modern games such as CS: GO with relative ease.

The Infinix 8i runs on Android 10 with the XOS 7 UI on top.

Camera

As we mentioned earlier, the Infinix 8i features a quad rear camera setup. The primary 48MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture supports PDAF. The remaining cameras include an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP depth sensor and an AI lens.

As expected, the photos clicked under direct sunlight have rich details and colour accuracy. The images appear sharp and with a decent dynamic range.

Thanks to the depth sensor, this smartphone can capture decent portrait mode shots with a good amount of background blur.

The ultrawide sensor is useful when you want to capture a lot of subjects in the background. However, there is a significant difference in the colour tone when you switch from the primary camera to the ultrawide one.

This device comes with support for EIS to minimize the jitters while capturing videos.

In the front, the 16+8MP dual camera does a good job in capturing selfies with natural skin tone and realistic background blur.

Battery Life

The Infinix Zero 8i is powered by a 4500mAh battery that will easily last you for a day of moderate to heavy usage.

With the bundled 18W fast charger, you can charge the battery from zero to a hundred per cent within 2.15 hours.

Verdict

Infinix Zero 8i is an amazing smartphone equipped with lots of goodies such as a powerful chipset, 8GB RAM and a high refresh rate panel.

Q

Not for gaming

Samsung Galaxy F41 is the newest smartphone offering from the South Korean multinational conglomerate in the budget price segment in India.

Samsung markets this sub. Rs.15,000 smartphone as a camera-centric device targeting photography enthusiasts on a shoestring budget.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy F41 looks and feels almost similar to many other M series models that we had reviewed on our site in the past.

The plastic back with glossy finish has been retained here as well to cut the cost as well as reduce the overall weight of the device.

The power button and volume rockers are located on the right side of the plastic frame. These buttons are very tactile and offer responsive feedback.

The physical fingerprint scanner is located on the rear section beside the rectangular-shaped camera module.

This scanner is very accurate and feels much faster to lock and unlock the device.

As with any other modern device, the Galaxy F41 features a USB Type C port for charging and data transfer as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio connectivity.

Display

Samsung is known for its quality OLED panels in the budget smartphone segment which very few other smartphone OEM dare to offer.

The Galaxy F41 features a 6.41-inch FHD+ sAMOLED display with a native resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

This is a 19.5:9 aspect ratio panel with an infinity U shaped notch up top.

With an impressive pixel density of 403ppi, this OLED panel has inky deep blacks, vivid and bright colours and excellent overall dynamic range.

This display gets quite bright at 420nits which makes it quite easier to use even outdoors under direct sunlight.

Processor and Performance

This is one area where the Galaxy F41 disappointed us.

This smartphone from Samsung still packs the older Exynos 9611 processor that we have seen in the likes of M21 and M31.

This octa-core processor works just fine for everyday usage but lags a bit when it comes to intense gaming.

We wish Samsung had gone with a newer version of an Exynos chip or even a comparable Qualcomm equivalent.

The base variant of this device comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

This is very much enough for the lag-free experience even with multitasking.

There is a dedicated SD card slot for increasing the storage further.

Camera

As we mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy F41 features a triple rear camera setup.

The primary camera is a 64MP sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8 with PDAF support.

Assisting this sensor is the 8MP ultrawide sensor and 5MP depth sensor for wide-angle shots and portrait mode bokeh clicks.

The quality of pictures comes out detailed and sharp in favourable lighting conditions.

The colours look natural and vivid.

Speaking of video, the F41 supports 4K and FHD video recording with decent frame rates.

The front camera is a 32MP shooter with HDR support for excellent quality selfie shots.

Nighttime photos are a hit and miss depending upon the lighting and the choice of the lens.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy F41 is powered by a 6000mAh Li-Po battery that is rated to last for a day and a half with heavy usage.

You can expect a screen on time of anywhere from 8-10 hours with this device.

Samsung has included a 15W fast charger in the box that juices up this device within 2.30 hours from zero to a hundred per cent.

Verdict

If you want a capable non-Chinese smartphone with capable hardware, a gorgeous OLED display and long-lasting battery life, the F41 is worth checking out.

The camera module in the rear can take excellent quality day time photos and videos which make this smartphone further appealing to the budget-conscious customers.

The POCO F1 offered amazing hardware at an unbelievable price and the users have been asking for the next iteration for God knows how long.

Finally, the company decided to launch the POCO X2 smartphone, again at an incredible price tag just under Rs.15,000.

Design and Build Quality

The POCO X2 shares an uncanny resemblance with the 5G capable Redmi K30 smartphone.

The glass sandwich design looks very elegant and feels premium in hand. POCO went the notch-less way with the double punch-hole front camera setup to increase the available screen real estate.

There is a 3.5mm headphone jack for those with a wired headphone, so don’t worry about investing extra on a Bluetooth headphone.

Overall the build quality of the POCO X2 is commendable for the price and it won’t be too much to say, this device is an absolute steal for your money.

Display

As we have earlier mentioned, the all-new POCO X2 comes with a double punch-hole display, which is the new trend among smartphone manufacturers.

This is a large 6.67-inch full HD+ reality flow display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The scrolling and transitions feel buttery smooth on this device and it is almost sure that after using a 120Hz display, going back to a traditional 60Hz device will be hard.

The colours look very natural and vivid and the brightness levels are on par with the competitors in the same price range.

This display is protected by the latest iteration of Corning Gorilla glass. Not only the protection covers the display but also the rear as well.

Processor and Performance

The POCO X2 comes loaded with the gaming-oriented Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC clocked at 2.2GHz.

The photo and video quality that comes out of these cameras are very well balanced with natural skin tones and colours.

Battery Life

The POCO X2 is powered by a 4500mAh Li-ion battery to accommodate its powerful processor and the 120Hz display.

The phone lasts comfortably over a day and half of heavy usage. The supplied 27W fast charger juices up the device pretty fast as well.

Verdict

If you don’t mind the lack of an OLED panel, the POCO X2 is one of the best devices you can get your hands on for a budget under Rs.20,000.

The long-lasting battery, 120Hz display and the 64MP quad-camera deliver an amazing value for money prospect with this device.

No secondary noise cancellation microphone

Realme 7 is the latest smartphone to launch in India from the Oppo sub-brand Realme, which comes as a successor to the widely popular and successful Realme 6.

Packed with an all-new processor and camera optics, the Realme 7 is all set to take on the likes of Poco M2 Pro and the Samsung M21 in the sub. Rs.15,000 price segment.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 7 features a modern and elegant design, which the company fondly calls the mirror design.

The polycarbonate backplate can be mistaken for glass, thanks to the glossy finish with subtle gradient pattern and adds to the overall premium feel of the device.

The fingerprint scanner on this device now rests on the right side, right where the power button is. Yes, the sensor is now integrated into the power button for easier access.

The punch hole display up front is protected by Corning gorilla glass 3, similar to its predecessor – the Realme 6.

There is a dedicated SD slot on this device along with two nano-SIM slots so that you don’t have to compromise with either the cellular connectivity or the storage space.

The lack of a secondary noise-cancelling microphone is one of the only gripes we have with this phone in the design department.

Display

As we said before, the Realme 7 features a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS display with a punch-hole camera cutout in the top left corner.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has a native resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and boasts of an impressive 405ppi.

As an icing on the cake, this colour accurate and bright display is a 90Hz panel which ensures smooth scrolling and visuals like in no other phones in this price segment.

Processor and Performance

The all-new MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor runs the show on the Realme 7.

This 12nm processor has a base clock of 2.05GHz and is assisted by the Mali G76 GPU for lag-free graphics performance.

With the 6GB RAM and the 64GB UFS2.1 storage onboard, this phone is one of the fastest in this price range.

Be it gaming, media consumption or everyday casual usage, this device performs like a champ.

Games such as COD mobile, PUBG and Fortnite run very well, without any dropped frames or lags. Thanks to the improved touch response rate, the in-game manoeuvres will feel very quick and precise.

Camera

The Realme 7 comes with a quad rear camera setup just like the Realme 6, but this time with an improved Sony IMX682 primary sensor.

The rear camera setup consists of a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and support for PDAF, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP b&w sensor followed by a 2MP depth-sensing unit.

The photos which come out of the primary camera have ample details and close to natural colours. There is no unnecessary saturation boosting on this phone as we had seen with older Realme devices.

Realme 7 is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps and FHD videos at 30/60fps as well.

The 16MP front shooter comes with the usual AI beauty modes and filters to make your selfies look better than ever.

Battery Life

The Realme 7 is powered by a 5000mAh Li-ion battery which is rated to last over a day and a half, even with heavy usage.

You can expect to get anywhere around 7-8 hours of screen on time, with a 90Hz refresh rate turned on.

Realme has also included a 30W dart charger inside the box which will help you juice up this mammoth battery within 1-1.5 hours.

Verdict

The Realme 7 is currently the best smartphone you can purchase for a budget under Rs.15,000.

Packed to the brim with cutting edge features, we’d have to admit that Realme has beaten Redmi to the punch this time around.

Realme had created a wave in the Indian smartphone industry by launching the Realme 1 which competed against the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

The Realme 6i is one of the latest budget Realme smartphone retailing in the market as of now priced competently under Rs.14,000.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 6i has followed in the footsteps of its elder sibling, the Realme 6 and has a punch hole camera design upfront.

The body of this smartphone is made of glossy plastic and has an interesting light reflective coating on top that makes this phone even more attractive in the daylight.

The screen upfront is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The buttons feel very tactile and responsive.

All the ports of this smartphone have been weather-sealed to ensure water resistance. The outer chassis is also designed to be splash resistant to keep the phone dry.

Weighing 191g, this is not the lightest smartphone of the bunch, but still thanks to the excellent weight distribution, this device doesn’t feel either top or bottom-heavy.

Display

The display on the Realme 6i is the exactly similar 6.5-inch full HD+ 20:9 aspect ratio panel with a punch-hole camera cut out.

This looks very special and makes the phone stand out from the crowd of notched display smartphones in the market.

The display is bright and the contrast levels are excellent. The colours pop out from the screen, thanks to the Realme OS skin running on top of the Android 10 OS.

One striking difference of this display, when compared with other smartphones in the same price segment, is that this is a 90Hz refresh rate ultra-smooth panel with 120Hz touch sampling rate.

Higher the refresh rate, smoother will be the scrolling and visuals. Increased touch sampling rate improves the accuracy of taps and gestures made on the screen.

Processor and Performance

The Realme 6i smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC which delivers excellent performance in the mid-range segment processor market.

The apps load faster and the multitasking is well within your reach no matter how many apps you have running in the background.

This phone has the Mali G76 GPU inside, which will unleash the gamer in you.

This smartphone comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, with provision to increase the storage via the dedicated memory card slot. For normal usage and gaming, the Realme 6i is one of the best budget smartphones out there for purchase.

Camera

The Realme 6i has a quadruple-camera in the rear that constitutes the 48MP primary sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8, wide-angle 8MP, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

In the front is a 16MP sensor that has AI-based portrait and beautification modes for better selfies.

The primary 48MP sporting an f/1.8 sensor, the low light photography is much more possible since this camera can gather much more light than a typical f/2.2 sensor.

The rear camera on this budget Android device supports 4K video capturing at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30/60fps with gyro EIS support.

Battery Life

The Realme 6i is powered by a 4300 Li-ion battery. It is sufficient for this smartphone to last for over a day and a half comfortably with moderate to heavy usage.

It also supports 30W VOOC fast charging to juice up the battery much faster than the competitors in the segment.

Verdict

The Realme 6i is one of the best smartphones in India that you can purchase under a budget of Rs.15,000.

With the class-leading performance-oriented Helio G90T CPU, a 90Hz FHD+ display and a very capable camera, this phone is a very compelling purchase for a price tag of Rs.13,999.

Q

Slower software updates

Samsung usually reserves major technological breakthroughs for its high-end Galaxy S series and Note series smartphones.

But with the latest edition of Samsung Galaxy M21, the company is introducing a battery life monster, which of course is its main selling point.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy M21is gracefully designed to captivate the eyes as well as the minds with glass finish polycarbonate exteriors coated with slight gradient colours.

This colour scheme is the same Honor has been doing with their smartphones off late, but here in M21, it comes with a more subtle effect.

This smartphone brags about having 84.2% screen to body ratio, and has minimal bezels at the sides of the display, making it look more awesome.

There is the newer micro USB type C charging port at the bottom, accompanied with the 3.5mm headphone jack ( Thank God!).

The rear part is where this phone starts to look unfamiliar. It features a triple camera setup arranged as a vertical strip with an LED flash besides.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy M21 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity U display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

Although not as clear and crisp as those displays found on premium Galaxy S series lineup, this OLED panel is sufficiently bright and has an impressive colour reproduction when compared with other phones in the similar price bracket.

With an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and pixel density around 403 ppi, watching media and playing games is a delightful experience.

The notch on this display is small and doesn’t feel obtrusive while watching media content on this smartphone.

Processor and Performance

Considering the price, the Galaxy M21 doesn’t feature the most powerful processor in its price category.

The octa-core Samsung Exynos 9611 SoC clocked at 2.3GHz performs well in normal conditions and won’t give any trouble for most of the people using it.

The 4GB RAM will be sufficient for most of the tasks you intend to perform on this mobile device, including some amount of casual gaming.

There is an inbuilt 64GB UFS 2.1 storage with a dedicated SD card slot for expanding the memory up to 1TB.

Camera

This is one of the biggest USPs of this smartphone – having three cameras.

The tri-camera set up on the back has an interesting mix of sensors earmarked especially for various functions.

The first one is the 48MP primary shooter with f/2.0 aperture. This sensor has all the standard features such as PDAF found on almost all the mid-range smartphone cameras.

The second sensor is the 8MP ultrawide sensor with a 120-degree field of view. The last in line is a 5MP depth sensor for those bokeh and portrait mode photos.

The front camera is a 20MP shooter with beauty modes and AI integration for manipulating your photos to look better than ever before.

Apart from the physical hardware, Samsung has delivered a feature-rich camera interface with a multitude of functions for taking smartphone photography to the next level.

The photos and videos come out pretty clean and sharp. The shots taken are rich in detail as well.

Miscellaneous

This mid-range Android smartphone features a physical fingerprint scanner in the rear. It works very well and the accuracy is on par with fingerprint scanners found on similarly priced devices.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 is launched with Android 10.0 Q out of the box with One UI 2.5on top.

Speaking about the connectivity, this device has the latest Bluetooth v5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi capability.

Battery Life

Surprisingly, Samsung has started to include higher capacity batteries in its smartphones off late.

This Android smartphone is powered by a mammoth 6000 mAh Li-ion battery that will easily last for more than two days of intense usage.

Verdict

If you’re the kind of person for whom battery life is the most important aspect, the Galaxy M21 is the phone to go for.

With its Super AMOLED display and excellent build quality, there is much more than just the optics to cherish about this device.

Outdated plastic back design

Realme is a budget smartphone brand spun off from Oppo to compete directly with the budget Redmi range of smartphones.

The original Narzo series was launched as an ultra-affordable gaming smartphone but with disappointing internals and the all-new Narzo 20 Pro is here with some significant improvements.

Design and Build Quality

The Narzo 20 Pro has a glass front, polycarbonate plastic frame and a plastic back structure with a unique gradient design.

This smartphone weighs around 190g, but since the weight is well balanced it doesn’t feel much of an issue to use single-handed.

The front display is protected by Corning gorilla glass for preventing accidental scratches.

The Narzo 20 Pro from Realme, like the recent trend, has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for easy lock/unlock procedure.

The USB type C charging port supports USB OTG feature. There is the regular 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio connectivity as well.

Display

In the original Narzo 10 smartphone, we got an HD+ display which was very disappointing, to be honest.

But with the Realme Narzo 20 Pro, what we get is a 90Hz ultra-smooth 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a native resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This 20:9 aspect ratio display has a punch hole cut out in the front for the selfie camera. This panel covers 83.5% screen to body ratio and has a sharp ~405ppi pixel density.

The colours come out rich and punchy, the brightness levels are sufficient for both indoors as well as occasional outdoor usage.

This is a 90Hz refresh rate panel that provides buttery smooth visuals throughout the interface and while gaming.

Processor and Performance

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro is powered by the gaming-oriented MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor.

With the 6GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage, this device performs exceptionally well with gaming as well as another day to day usage.

There are no noticeable lags or stutters while playing games, thanks to the powerful Mali G76 GPU inside.

The all-new optimized Realme UI on top of Android 10 Q further enhances the overall performance of this smartphone.

Camera

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro packs a capable quad rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor.

This is followed by an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth and 2MP macro shooter.

The photos and videos from this camera unit come out very detailed and colour accurate for its asking price.

The maximum video recording resolution of this smartphone is 4K @ 30fps.

The front 13MP punch hole camera has HDR support and offers a wide-angle selfie experience.

Battery Life

This entry-level gaming smartphone from Realme is powered by a 4500mAh Li-Po battery inside.

This will last you over a day and a half, specifically 7-8 hours of screen on time on a single charge.

Surprisingly the Narzo 20 Pro is bundled with a 65W super dart charger that juices up the battery within 1.30 hours flat.

Verdict

The Realme Narzo 20 Pro is an entry-level gaming smartphone with capable internal hardware and decent camera optics for a budget under Rs.15,000.
