1. Samsung Galaxy F62
Pros
Decent quad cameras
Robust build quality
Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
Cons
Bulky
The Galaxy F62 is the second smartphone offering from the Samsung F series lineup after the much-praised F41.
Priced under Rs.25,000, the Samsung Galaxy F62 competes with the premium mid-range smartphones from Xiaomi and Realme.
Design and Build Quality
The Samsung Galaxy F62 has a glass front with a plastic frame and plastic back construction.
The sleek design of this smartphone makes it look and feel premium in hand. The laser gradient design is unique from the rest of the smartphones in this price bracket.
Weighing at 218g, the Samsung Galaxy F62 is not at all a lightweight smartphone. The mammoth 7000mAh battery inside makes this device feel like a brick in hand.
The rear section has the square camera bump which houses the quad cameras and an assisting LED flashlight.
The volume rockers and the power button is positioned on the right side of the plastic middle frame. The power button doubles up as the fingerprint scanner, even though this smartphone comes with an OLED display.
Fortunately, Samsung has retained the 3.5mm headphone jack on this smartphone.
Display
Displays are always the strong forte of Samsung smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy F62 features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
This is perhaps one of the best smartphone displays in the sub. Rs.25,000 price segment. The colours look vibrant and vivid and the blacks appear inky deep.
This is a standard 60Hz refresh rate panel which is a bit of a letdown considering some other manufacturers market their smartphones half the price with high refresh rate panels.
With a peak brightness level of 420 nits, this gorgeous OLED panel is a joy to use indoors and is fairly visible outdoors, under direct sunlight as well.
Processor and Performance
The Samsung Galaxy F62 packs the Exynos 9825 octa-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz. This CPU is built on the energy-efficient 7nm process that ensures uncompromised performance without being too much of a sucker for power.
The 6GB RAM on board makes sure that everything runs fine without any sort of lags or stutters. Even with multitasking, the Samsung Galaxy F62 provides a pleasant experience.
Be it gaming or any other resource-intensive apps, the Galaxy F62 manages to run them without breaking a sweat.
The 128GB storage makes sure that there is enough free space to save media files and miscellaneous content.
The Samsung Galaxy F62 runs on the latest Android 11 OS with the latest One UI 3.1 on top.
Camera
This premium mid-range smartphone from Samsung comes with a quad rear camera setup consisting of the 64MP primary camera accompanied with 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and a 5MP depth sensor.
The photos from the primary camera turn out to be detailed and colour accurate. The dynamic range is wide and well articulated in the photos. The ultrawide shooter fares reasonably well in terms of colour accuracy and saturation.
The depth sensor helps the primary camera to take good quality portrait mode photos with bokeh effects whereas the macro sensor allows to click photos much closer to the subject.
Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps.
The 32MP punch hole camera up front captures excellent selfie shots with good skin tones and details when shot under adequate lighting conditions.
Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy F62 packs in a huge 7000mAh battery inside that will last for two days even with heavy usage.
The included 25W charging brick juices up this battery within 2.15 hours.
Thanks to the mammoth battery inside, this smartphone supports reverse charging. You can charge your other devices from this phone by using a compatible cable.
Verdict
Looking for a non-Chinese smartphone with excellent performance and a gorgeous OLED display? The Samsung Galaxy F62 checks almost all the right boxes if your budget is around Rs.25,000.

This smartphone comes with the MIUI 12 skin on top of the latest Android 11 OS.
Camera
The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max for the first time in the budget smartphone segment has brought the 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor to the market with this smartphone.
This is an f/1.9 dual pixel PDAF supported sensor that captures the photos and videos with a lot of details without compromising on the colour profile at all.
The feature-rich camera app has a host of nifty tricks that will help you fine-tune the photos and videos to match your expectations.

Battery Life
The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is powered by a 5020mAh battery and with moderate to normal use this phone will last you a day of usage.
Do note that a higher refresh rate might accelerate the battery drain but it is not drastic as we expected.

Design and Build Quality
Design is one of the strong fortes for Oppo smartphones from day one. The premium look and feel of Oppo smartphones made them stand out from the rest of the competitors.
The same is the case with the Oppo F19 Pro. The high-quality polycarbonate back with glossy back reminds us of glass-backed smartphones but with the advantage of reduced weight.
However, the glossy back is a fingerprint magnet and you might want to use this smartphone with a cover to avoid fingerprint smudges.
The fit and finish of this smartphone is well worth the asking price. Weighing at just 172g, this device is easy to carry around and use with a single hand.
At the bottom section of the frame, we have the 3.5mm audio jack. Type-C charging/data syncing port and the single speaker.

The primary shooter has an aperture size of f/1.7 and supports phase detection autofocus. The pictures and videos from this camera come out clean and rich in details with close to natural colour tones.

Smartphones that come under Rs.20,000 mostly have side-mounted fingerprint scanners but the Realme 8 Pro has the under-display fingerprint scanner which works swiftly.
Realme has not traded any ports – there is a standard USB-C port for charging and data transfer, and an audio jack to experience the immersive sound quality using wired earphones.
Display
The Realme 8 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The showrunner of the Realme 8 Pro is the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz.
The 8GB LPDDR4X RAM onboard provides smooth performance on everyday use and there is no lag or stutter seen while multitasking.
You will find no lag or stutter in gaming either and most of the high-end games in Android will be playable at 40-45 fps.
From the provided 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, you will get somewhere around 100GB to use as the rest of the space is reserved by the OS and pre-installed apps.
This UFS storage also plays an important role in device performance. The app loading speed will be much faster and copy/paste files from one folder to another; it will be done in a snap.
Finally, Realme devices have started to ship with the latest Android 11 out of the box. This one comes pre-installed with the new Realme UI 2 based on Android 11.

The camera app is full of features, the night mode is available in wide and ultrawide. Photos taken in night mode look good with little to no noise.
You can record videos from the rear and front camera at the same time, this feature got popular after Samsung introduced Director’s view in their flagship S-series lineup.
The 16MP selfie camera is a downgrade here when compared to older Realme smartphones. The selfies look soft when captured indoors and under direct sunlight, the skin tone looks a bit over sharp.
Battery Life
The Realme 8 Pro is powered by a 4500mAh lithium-polymer battery and it will last for a day.
The 50W bundled charger juices up the smartphone battery from 0-100% in less than an hour.

The ultrawide sensor captures a lot of subjects when compared to the primary shooter. The colours and details from this sensor are better than what we had expected.
The 16MP front shooter delivers average quality selfies with a softer skin tone.
Battery Life
Realme X7 is powered by a 4310mAh battery that will easily last for a day and a half with moderate usage.

The Redmi Note 10S has a quad-camera setup at the back. The 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
The photos that come out from the main camera have good results, the dynamic range and sharpness are good but the low-lit photos are not that pleasant.
The ultrawide lens can capture more details in photos and is excellent when it comes to group photos.
You can take portraits and the background blur effect is one of the best we have seen so far in a budget smartphone.
Surprisingly, it can record 4K videos at 30fps but stabilization is not provided so you need a tripod or gimbal to hold the device steadily.
The 13MP front camera works fine at the price range. The selfie images look good with enough sharpness and details with no issue in skin tones.

The Oppo F17 is a budget mid-range priced just Rs.20,000 following the new design strategy and respectable internals that makes it one of the best in the business in its price segment
Design and Build Quality
The Oppo F17 has a very eye catchy design that looks amazing at first look.
The leather finish on the backside makes this device stand out from the rest of the competition.
Thanks to this leather finish, you can use this device without any silicon case without the fear of fingerprint smudges.
Weighing just 163g and with a slim profile of 7.45mm, the Oppo F17 is one of the lightest smartphones available for Rs.20,000.
Display
The Oppo F17 features a tall 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. This amounts to about 408ppi and the visuals and text appear sharp and detailed.
This display offers great contrast levels and deep blacks. The colours are much more natural and vivid as well.
This panel also gets sufficiently bright up to 430 nits which are enough for good sunlight legibility.
Performance
The Oppo F17 is powered by the powerful midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC.
With 8GB of RAM, multitasking is great and the device breaks no sweat processing two resource-intensive apps side by side.
The device comes with 128GB of inbuilt UFS 2.1 storage and comes with a dedicated slot for memory cards.
In-display Fingerprint Scanner
The Oppo F17 is perhaps one of the cheapest smartphones which come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Even though this technology is in the nascent stage, it works relatively well and is almost as fast as conventional fingerprint sensors.
Camera
In the rear, the Oppo F17 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 2MP mono lenses for AI filters.
Numbers-wise, the 16MP sensor might sound pretty low for this price, but performance-wise the quality of pictures turned out to be pleasantly good with ample details and colour accuracy.
The low light photo/video performance from this sensor can be said to be decent at best.
The front camera on this device is a 16MP sensor with an aperture size of f/2.0 and has HDR support for selfies with good dynamic range.
Both the front and the rear camera supports Full HD video recording up to 30fps.
Battery Life
The Oppo F17 has a 4015mAh Li-ion battery inside which delivers excellent battery life.
Under heavy usage, this phone will last over a day comfortably with enough juice to spare for a couple of hours.
Additionally, Oppo supplies a 30W fast charger with the box, certified to be VOOC enabled, which is the company’s answer to Oneplus’s Dash charge feature.
This charger charges the battery up to 100% in just under 53 minutes.
Verdict
The Oppo F17 is a premium mid-range smartphone with capable internals that justifies its price point.
What makes this device stand out from the rest is the design. The phone is a stunner when it comes to looks and is sure to turn some heads in the crowd.
Value-added features such as bundling the fast charger with the device make this a much more compelling option worth purchasing.

Design and Build Quality
The Samsung Galaxy F41 looks and feels almost similar to many other M series models that we had reviewed on our site in the past.
The plastic back with a glossy finish has been retained here as well to cut the cost as well as reduce the overall weight of the device.
The power button and volume rockers are located on the right side of the plastic frame. These buttons are very tactile and offer responsive feedback.
The physical fingerprint scanner is located on the rear section beside the rectangular-shaped camera module.
This scanner is very accurate and feels much faster to lock and unlock the device.

Samsung is known for its quality OLED panels in the budget smartphone segment which very few other smartphone OEM dare to offer.

This display gets quite bright at 420nits which makes it quite easier to use even outdoors under direct sunlight.
Processor and Performance
This is one area where the Galaxy F41 disappointed us.
This smartphone from Samsung still packs the older Exynos 9611 processor that we have seen in the likes of M21 and M31.
This octa-core processor works just fine for everyday usage but lags a bit when it comes to intense gaming.
We wish Samsung had gone with a newer version of an Exynos chip or even a comparable Qualcomm equivalent.
The base variant of this device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. This is very much enough for the lag-free experience even with multitasking. There is a dedicated SD card slot for increasing the storage further.
Camera
As we mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy F41 features a triple rear camera setup.
The primary camera is a 64MP sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8 with PDAF support.
Assisting this sensor is the 8MP ultrawide sensor and 5MP depth sensor for wide-angle shots and portrait mode bokeh clicks.
The quality of pictures comes out detailed and sharp in favourable lighting conditions.
The colours look natural and vivid. Speaking of video, the F41 supports 4K and FHD video recording with decent frame rates.
The front camera is a 32MP shooter with HDR support for excellent quality selfie shots. Nighttime photos are a hit and miss depending upon the lighting and the choice of the lens.
Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy F41 is powered by a 6000mAh Li-Po battery that is rated to last for a day and a half with heavy usage.
You can expect a screen on time of anywhere from 8-10 hours with this device.
Samsung has included a 15W fast charger in the box that juices up this device within 2.30 hours from zero to a hundred per cent.
