Cons

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is the latest offering from the Redmi Note series lineup succeeding the Note 9 Pro Max released last year.

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is the first-ever Note series smartphone from Redmi to feature an AMOLED display instead of the LCD.

Design and Build Quality

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max has a glass sandwich design similar to that of its predecessor, the Note 9 Pro Max.

The front glass is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 but Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned any such protection to the rear glass.

The main difference in terms of design between the Note 9 Pro Max and the Note 10 Pro Max is the camera bump design. The rear quad camera setup now rests towards the left side.

The volume rockerz and the power button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner is positioned at the right side of the frame. While the Type-C charging port is situated at the bottom, the IR blaster and the 3.5mm headphone jack flanks to the top section.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max features dual stereo speakers for loud and clear sound output.

By no means is the Redmi Note 10 Pro max a phone for single-handed usage. You should be careful about the phone tipping from your hands if used with a single hand.

Display

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max features a 6.67-inch 120Hz Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.

This gorgeous OLED display has a 395ppi pixel density that results in sharp and clean visuals as well as text without any pixelations whatsoever.

The front screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 to minimize the chance of accidental scratches.

The colours on this panel look gorgeous. This is an HDR10 certified panel with an excellent contrast ratio and brightness levels. If you are a media consumption enthusiast, you’ll love this display for sure.

The enhanced 120Hz refresh makes everything feel buttery smooth. The scrolling animations to the gaming visuals – it is a league apart when compared with the standard 60Hz displays out there.

Last but not the least, this OLED panel has a peak brightness of 1200nits, making it one of the brightest panels in this price segment.

Processor and Performance

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G octa-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz.

This processor coupled with the Adreno 618 GPU runs the show pretty effortlessly – be it casual usage or heavy gaming.

The 6GB RAM does a good job in keeping the apps in memory most of the time, even during multitasking.

The 128GB UFS2.2 storage offers faster data transfers and superior day to day performance. You have the provision to increase the storage further with the help of a micro SD card.

This smartphone comes with the MIUI 12 skin on top of the latest Android 11 OS.

Camera

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max for the first time in the budget smartphone segment has brought the 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor to the market with this smartphone.

This is an f/1.9 dual pixel PDAF supported sensor that captures the photos and videos with a lot of details without compromising on the colour profile at all.

The feature-rich camera app has a host of nifty tricks that will help you fine-tune the photos and videos to match your expectations.

The rest of the cameras include the 8MP ultrawide sensor, 5MP macro and the 2MP depth sensor for bokeh mode photos.

The rear camera is capable of 4K video recording up to 30fps. Even the macro mode camera can record close up videos at 1080p resolution.

In the front, the 16MP sensor does a decent enough job to capture good looking selfies, but at times the quality is questionable mainly due to the software oversharpening.

Battery Life

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is powered by a 5020mAh battery and with moderate to normal use this phone will last you a day of usage.

Do note that a higher refresh rate might accelerate the battery drain but it is not drastic as we expected.

Xiaomi has bundled the 33W fast charger inside the box that will charge up the battery from 0-60% in just 30 minutes.

Verdict

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is a feature-packed Android smartphone that checks most of the right boxes for a budget of Rs.20,000.

Oppo is a major global smartphone manufacturer based in China known for its flagship as well as affordable Android smartphone lineup.

The F19 Pro from Oppo is one of the latest mid-range Android smartphones launched as a successor to the popular F17 Pro smartphone and retails in the Indian market for just Rs.21,490.

Design and Build Quality

Design is one of the strong fortes for Oppo smartphones from day one. The premium look and feel of Oppo smartphones made them stand out from the rest of the competitors.

The same is the case with the Oppo F19 Pro. The high-quality polycarbonate back with glossy back reminds us of glass-backed smartphones but with the advantage of reduced weight.

However, the glossy back is a fingerprint magnet and you might want to use this smartphone with a cover to avoid fingerprint smudges.

The fit and finish of this smartphone is well worth the asking price. Weighing at just 172g, this device is easy to carry around and use with a single hand.

At the bottom section of the frame, we have the 3.5mm audio jack. Type-C charging/data syncing port and the single speaker.

The power button and the volume rockers are on the right side of the frame, easily accessible to the fingers.

This mid-range Android device from Oppo features an in-display fingerprint scanner that is quite fast and accurate in unlocking the device.

Display

The Oppo F19 Pro features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.

Being an OLED panel, the colours are rich and vibrant with inky deep blacks and an impressive contrast ratio.

Thanks to the 409ppi pixel density, the visuals and text appear sharp and clean without any sort of pixelations whatsoever.

This is a standard 60Hz refresh rate panel but with an enhanced touch response sampling rate of 180Hz.

This OLED panel comes with a peak brightness of 800nits, ideal for effortless indoors as well as outdoor usage.

Processor and Performance

The processor inside the Oppo F19 Pro is the MediaTek Helio P95 which is an octa-core CPU that offers smooth performance with decent power consumption.

The 8GB LPDDR4X RAM onboard makes sure the apps and games run just fine without any sort of lags or stutters, even while multitasking.

Most of the modern gaming titles such as COD: Mobile and PUBG can be played at high graphics settings without any frame drops.

The 128GB UFS2.1 storage is fast enough to deliver stutter free everyday usage and you can further increase the storage capacity with the help of an SD card slot.

Oppo F19 Pro comes loaded with the ColorOS 11.1 skin running on top of the latest Android 11 OS. The new generation of ColorOS has been greatly redefined to embrace minimalism and it runs butter smooth as advertised.

Camera

The Oppo F19 Pro sports a quad-camera setup in the rear consisting of a 48MP primary shooter followed by an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 2MP B&W lens.

The primary shooter has an aperture size of f/1.7 and supports phase detection autofocus. The pictures and videos from this camera come out clean and rich in details with close to natural colour tones.

There is a slight change in the colour tone when switched to the wide-angle shooter, but that has to be expected with budget smartphones.

The rear cameras can record 4K videos at 30fps while the front camera caps the video at 1080p/30fps.

The 16MP selfie camera works just fine, but the skin tone appears to be a little soft but nothing major that can’t be fixed with a software update in the future.

Battery Life

The Oppo F19 Pro is powered by a 4310mAh that easily lasts for a day on normal to heavy use.

Oppo has included a 30W charger inside the box that juices up the battery from 0-100% in just 1 hour 15 minutes.

Verdict

If you’re after a lightweight device that has an awesome display and decent performance, then Oppo F19 Pro is the best choice for you.

Realme has been closely trailing behind Redmi for a while in the smartphone market.

With the all-new Realme 8 Pro, the company has upped the ante in the budget smartphone segment with cutting edge features at an affordable price point.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 8 Pro has a plastic back with the prominent “Dare to Leap” tagline that covers the entire backplate of this smartphone.

Talking about the other design aspects, the quad-camera setup at the back looks nice and the shimmering design of this smartphone will suit anyone’s personality.

This device has curved sides on the back and it won’t slip from the hands that easily.

This smartphone has a slim profile and weighs 176 grams which means it is convenient for one-hand usage.

Smartphones that come under Rs.20,000 mostly have side-mounted fingerprint scanners but the Realme 8 Pro has the under-display fingerprint scanner which works swiftly.

Realme has not traded any ports – there is a standard USB-C port for charging and data transfer, and an audio jack to experience the immersive sound quality using wired earphones.

Display

The Realme 8 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

This display has a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and an impressive 90.8% screen to body ratio, which means you will have an immersive experience on media consumption and while gaming.

The colour reproduction is phenomenal with the colours looking vivid and punchy with inky deep blacks. With a peak brightness of 1000 nits, you can use this smartphone outdoors without any issues.

Realme has missed the higher refresh rate but it does have a touch sampling rate of 180Hz which gives you a slight edge in gaming.

The panel has a rich pixel count of 409-PPI and as a result, the visuals and text look sharp and clean.

Processor and Performance

The showrunner of the Realme 8 Pro is the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

The 8GB LPDDR4X RAM onboard provides smooth performance on everyday use and there is no lag or stutter seen while multitasking.

You will find no lag or stutter in gaming either and most of the high-end games in Android will be playable at 40-45 fps.

From the provided 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, you will get somewhere around 100GB to use as the rest of the space is reserved by the OS and pre-installed apps.

This UFS storage also plays an important role in device performance. The app loading speed will be much faster and copy/paste files from one folder to another; it will be done in a snap.

Finally, Realme devices have started to ship with the latest Android 11 out of the box. This one comes pre-installed with the new Realme UI 2 based on Android 11.

Camera

The Realme 8 Pro houses the quad-camera setup which includes 108MP primary lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The main camera performs well in daylight conditions, the dynamic range is good and the images look rich and vivid.

Also, the details in the photos are excellent. The ultrawide take similar photos just as the main lens but the details in ultrawide aren’t that great.

The portrait comes out good and even in video recording, you can select live video mode in which it blurs the background.

The camera app is full of features, the night mode is available in wide and ultrawide. Photos taken in night mode look good with little to no noise.

You can record videos from the rear and front camera at the same time, this feature got popular after Samsung introduced Director’s view in their flagship S-series lineup.

The 16MP selfie camera is a downgrade here when compared to older Realme smartphones. The selfies look soft when captured indoors and under direct sunlight, the skin tone looks a bit over sharp.

Battery Life

The Realme 8 Pro is powered by a 4500mAh lithium-polymer battery and it will last for a day.

The 50W bundled charger juices up the smartphone battery from 0-100% in less than an hour.

Verdict

The Realme 8 Pro is a lightweight smartphone packed with powerful hardware that gives a smooth performance.

The display of this smartphone is amazing and considering the other positive factors like SoC, battery life, and design this phone is worth buying for Rs.19,999.

BUY FROM FLIPKART

Pros

Fast charging support

Excellent RAM management

Cons

Average selfie camera

Realme is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that gives a tough competition to Xiaomi in terms of providing customers with affordable feature-rich Android smartphones.

The all-new Realme X7 is a mid-range smartphone packed with a lot of useful features retailing in the Indian market for just Rs.19,999.

Design and Build Quality

Realme is no stranger to using flashy colours and accents on their budget smartphones.

The Realme X7 is one of the most flashy Android smartphones available in the Indian market as of now.

Weighing at just 176g, this smartphone is 8.1m thick and feels comfortable in the hand. You can carry this device in your pocket without even noticing it is there.

Unlike most other smartphones in the market, the Realme 7 flaunts the volume rockers on the left side of the frame and the power button on the right. The fingerprint scanner is tucked underneath the display.

Unfortunately, there is no audio jack on this smartphone but a single USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. Realme has provided a Type-C to 3.5mm converter in the box if that’s of any use.

Display

The Realme X7 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Surprisingly, this smartphone has a standard 60Hz refresh rate but comes with an enhanced 180Hz touch sampling rate for precise touch input response.

Being an AMOLED panel, the blacks appear dark and the colours seem to pop out bright and vivid. Thanks to the higher pixel density count, the visuals appear sharp and detailed without any kind of pixelation.

With a peak brightness of 600nits, this display fares excellently indoors and fairly decent under direct sunlight as well.

Processor and Performance

The Realme X7 has the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC with 5G radio support on board.

The new Dimensity series processors from MediaTek has significantly reduced the gap between competing Snapdragon processors in terms of performance.

The 6GB LPDDR4X RAM onboard assists the processor to handle daily chores and resource-intensive tasks like a champ, without breaking any sweat.

Thanks to the 128 UFS2.1 storage, the apps load pretty snappily and the data transfer speeds are commendable as well.

You will be able to run almost all of the modern gaming titles on this smartphone without a hitch.

Camera

The Realme X7 houses a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens.

Photos clicked in daylight turn out pretty good with a good amount of details and colour accuracy. The green seems to be a bit oversaturated but it is a software issue and can be fixed with an OTA update nevertheless.

The ultrawide sensor captures a lot of subjects when compared to the primary shooter. The colours and details from this sensor are better than what we had expected.

The 16MP front shooter delivers average quality selfies with a softer skin tone.

Battery Life

Realme X7 is powered by a 4310mAh battery that will easily last for a day and a half with moderate usage.

The bundled 50W super dart charger juices up the battery from 0-50% in just 18 minutes, which is mindblowing, to be honest.

Verdict

The Realme X7 is one of the best budget smartphones offering a mix of great performance and feature completeness for a budget under Rs.20,000.

Cons

Bloated UI

Xiaomi is known for selling feature-rich smartphones at very low prices and the brand always makes its competition sweat with its competitive price tags.

The new Redmi Note 10S is the continuation in the Note series and is the latest smartphone of 2021 equipped with a MediaTek processor and is retailing in India for a budget under Rs.20,000.

Design and Build Quality

Redmi has shown significant improvement in the design with its Note 10 series smartphones.

The Redmi Note 10S has a polycarbonate back with flat finishing. The device looks and feels premium in hands.

The rectangular-shaped camera module with curved edges looks amazing on this smartphone.

Weighing at just 179 grams, this phone feels lightweight in hands, and thanks to its excellent weight distribution, you can use the device with a single hand.

The smartphone has dual speakers and it provides surround sound yet we still believe that a pair of good earphones will provide a better sound experience.

The device has a USB-C port at the bottom along with the audio jack. The volume controls and power button are provided on the right side.

The fingerprint sensor is doubled with the power button for faster and secure unlock.

Display

The Redmi Note 10S has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The display has a peak brightness of 1100 nits which makes this panel legible for outdoor use.

The colour reproduction is amazing, which is no surprise as this is an sAMOLED panel with a rich contrast ratio.

Every visual you will see look vivid and punchy and with the slim bezels on the sides, you will have a delightful experience on content consumption.

There is no high refresh rate but is acceptable for the asking price and there are no major delays we found while interacting with the panel.

At night, you can use low light mode to read an eBook or watch videos without causing much stress on your eyes.

Processor and Performance

Inside the Redmi Note 10S, there is a MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor designed on 12-nm architecture.

This CPU paired with the 6GB LPDDR4x RAM offers flawless performance in routine use and multitasking can be done without noticing any jitters.

The 128GB UFS 2.2 storage also helps boost the performance, the smartphone will boot up quickly and apps will load at a much higher speed compared to eMMC.

The MIUI 12.5 developed on Android 11 OS runs smoothly however, you do find some ads and bloatware. You can remove some apps but ads will remain annoying.

Camera

The Redmi Note 10S has a quad-camera setup at the back. The 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

The photos that come out from the main camera have good results, the dynamic range and sharpness are good but the low-lit photos are not that pleasant.

The ultrawide lens can capture more details in photos and is excellent when it comes to group photos.

You can take portraits and the background blur effect is one of the best we have seen so far in a budget smartphone.

Surprisingly, it can record 4K videos at 30fps but stabilization is not provided so you need a tripod or gimbal to hold the device steadily.

The 13MP front camera works fine at the price range. The selfie images look good with enough sharpness and details with no issue in skin tones.

Battery Life

The Redmi Note 10S is powered by a 5000mAh battery that will last for a whole day with normal use.

The bundled 33W fast charger juice up the battery life from zero to full in 1:30 hour.

Verdict

The Redmi Note 10S is a balanced phone in the series with a great mixture of performance, battery life, and build quality.

If you like to have a lightweight device with good everyday performance then Redmi Note 10S is the best you can get.

The South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung is a well-reputed brand in India and people trust this brand due to its excellent quality.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 is the new model in the M-series and also the first smartphone in the series to come equipped with the MediaTek processor. Let’s check out the details if this phone is right for you or not.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy M32 comes with a polycarbonate back that has a lining design and the back panel is reflective and you will see a rainbow effect when the lights hit the back.

The device is thick and weighing 198 grams, it does feel heavy which is acceptable considering it has a big battery inside.

A square-shaped cake-like camera module at the back becomes quiet among the M-series smartphones.

Thankfully, Samsung has provided a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.

You will also get the secondary noise cancellation mic at the top frame for a seamless calling experience.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy M32 sports a 6.4-inch 90Hz Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The panel has the protection of corning gorilla glass 5 so even if the device falls from your waist height the display will remain as it is.

The 90Hz + Super AMOLED combination in Samsung is like a dream come true, everyone knows that Samsung manufactures world-class displays and this one is no exception.

It’s smooth, colourful and watching the media on this display will be a joyful experience.

The 800 nits of maximum brightness level provide the convenience of using this smartphone outdoors.

Processor and Performance

The Samsung Galaxy M32 comes equipped with the MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor.

The CPU paired with the 6GB RAM can handle most of the task smoothly and multitasking can be done without facing much lag.

The 128GB internal storage is where your photos and videos are stored, even the application you install from the Playstore will acquire space from internal storage.

Don’t worry, the device has a dedicated SD card slot to expand the storage.

As for the OS, the device comes pre-installed with the One UI 3.1 developed on the latest Android 11 OS. The One UI has no ads but it has too many pre-installed Samsung applications which you can remove.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy M32 has a quad-camera setup at the rear side consisting of a 64MP main lens, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

In normal lighting conditions, the main sensor performs exceptionally well. The colour reproduction is good and has balanced sharpness.

The camera app of Samsung is loaded with different modes which you can use to click better pictures.

The ultrawide sensor lacks a bit of colour accuracy and sharpness, otherwise, the details in ultrawide photos are good.

You can take portrait photos, the depth sensor will help blur the background.

Coming to the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera and to be honest, the results of the selfie are very good. The skin tones, colours, and details are well maintained.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy M32 is powered by the mammoth 6000mAh lithium polymer battery that will provide backup for one and a half days.

Samsung has bundled a 15W fast charger which takes almost 2:30 hours to recharge the battery levels.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M32 is an excellent smartphone for those who only like to purchase smartphones from Samsung.

From this smartphone, what you can expect is exceptional battery life, better performance, and marvellous display.

Pros

Premium design

Thin and lightweight

Cons

Average processor

Vivo is a prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer popular for its affordable lineup of Android smartphones in the Indian market.

The Vivo V20 SE is a camera-centric smartphone packed with a decently powerful chipset priced under Rs.20,000.

Design and Build Quality

Vivo has done an incredible job in terms of the design of the Vivo V20 SE. This smartphone looks premium with the glossy finish back and gradient colours.

This is a lightweight device and easy to operate with one hand. Weighing at just 171g, this device is lightweight and the slim form factor makes it easy to be carried around in the pant pockets.

The Vivo V20 SE features a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, speaker grill and primary mic for calling at the bottom section of the middle frame.

The top section houses the secondary noise cancellation microphone along with the SIM tray with dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD slot for memory expansion.

The power button and the volume rocker is positioned towards the right side of the middle frame.

Display

The Vivo V20 SE features a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED U-notch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

With a pixel density of 409ppi, this OLED display looks stunningly vivid and detailed. The colours pop out of the screen, thanks to the near-infinite contrast ratio offered by the OLED technology.

The display gets very bright indoors and when used outdoors, the screen is legible enough for the most part.

Except for the slightly thick bottom chin, the bezels on the top and sides are narrow, facilitating an immersive media consumption experience.

Processor and Performance

This is where the Vivo V20 SE is a huge disappointment. This device packs the yesteryear midrange Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor onboard.

While this is a perfectly capable everyday processor that can handle casual tasks such as web browsing and social networking, it isn’t that powerful enough for gaming and intense multitasking.

The 8GB RAM onboard makes sure the apps never run out of memory even when used side by side.

Regarding storage, the Vivo V20SE comes with an ample 128GB capacity with the option to further expand via the dedicated SD card slot.

Surprisingly, the Vivo V20 SE is one of the first smartphones in India to launch with the latest Android 11 out of the box.

Camera

The Vivo S20 SE has a triple rear camera setup with the primary shooter being a 48MP camera followed by the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth-sensing unit.

The photos captured with the 48MP sensor have a good amount of details and the colours look close to natural when compared with some other Vivo smartphones.

The 8MP ultrawide lens is perfectly usable under good lighting conditions but once the light fades, a significant amount of noise creeps into the clicks.

The camera app is fully loaded with features such as AI filters and stickers that can be used to enhance the fun element in amateur photography.

The Selfie camera was and is one of the main selling points of Vivo smartphones. The 32MP shooter on this one doesn’t let us down in terms of the quality.

Battery Life

The Vivo V20 SE is powered by a 4100mAh battery that will easily last you for a day of heavy usage without much trouble.

The bundled 33W adapter supports fast charging and juices up the battery completely from zero to a hundred per cent within an hour.

Verdict

The Vivo V20 SE is a thin and lightweight Android smartphone with the latest Android 11 OS on board and decent everyday performance.

If you don’t use the phone much for gaming, the Vivo V20 SE is perfectly fine for your casual smartphone usage.

Oppo has a strong presence in both the online and offline market in the country and often releases new models much faster in India than it does in other regions outside China.

The Oppo F17 is a budget mid-range priced just Rs.20,000 following the new design strategy and respectable internals that makes it one of the best in the business in its price segment

Design and Build Quality

The Oppo F17 has a very eye catchy design that looks amazing at the first look.

The leather finish on the backside makes this device stand out from the rest of the competition.

Thanks to this leather finish, you can use this device without any silicon case without the fear of fingerprint smudges.

Weighing just 163g and with a slim profile of 7.45mm, the Oppo F17 is one of the lightest smartphones available under Rs.20,000.

Display

The Oppo F17 features a tall 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. This amounts to about 408ppi and the visuals and text appear sharp and detailed.

This display offers great contrast levels and deep blacks. The colours are much more natural and vivid as well.

This panel also gets sufficiently bright up to 430 nits which are enough for good sunlight legibility.

Performance

The Oppo F17 is powered by the powerful midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC.

With 8GB of RAM, multitasking is great and the device breaks no sweat processing two resource-intensive apps side by side.

The device comes with 128GB of inbuilt UFS 2.1 storage and comes with a dedicated slot for memory cards.

In-display Fingerprint Scanner

The Oppo F17 is perhaps one of the cheapest smartphones which come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Even though this technology is in the nascent stage, it works relatively well and is almost as fast as conventional fingerprint sensors.

Camera

In the rear, the Oppo F17 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 2MP mono lenses for AI filters.

Numbers-wise, the 16MP sensor might sound pretty low for this price, but performance-wise the quality of pictures turned out to pleasantly good with ample details and colour accuracy.

The low light photo/video performance from this sensor can be said to be decent at best.

The front camera on this device is a 16MP sensor with an aperture size of f/2.0 and has HDR support for selfies with good dynamic range.

Both the front and the rear camera supports Full HD video recording up to 30fps.

Battery life

The Oppo F17 has a 4015mAh Li-ion battery inside which delivers excellent battery life.

Under heavy usage, this phone will last over a day comfortably with enough juice to spare for a couple of hours.

Additionally, Oppo supplies a 30W fast charger with the box, certified to be VOOC enabled, which is the company’s answer to Oneplus’s Dash charge feature.

This charger charges the battery up to 100% in just under 53 minutes.

Verdict

The Oppo F17 is a premium mid-range smartphone with capable internals that justifies its price point.

What makes this device stand out from the rest is the design. The phone is a stunner when it comes to looks and is sure to turn some heads in the crowd.

Value-added features such as bundling the fast charger with the device make this a much more compelling option worth purchasing.

25W fast charger in the box

Cons

Average processor

The Galaxy M31s is one of the latest mid-range online-only M series android smartphones from Samsung to take on the competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Realme.

The Samsung Galaxy M31s is a device like nothing else from the past, especially the previously ridiculously overpriced A series phones.

It is loaded with features that stack well against its competition for the price tag at which the phone retails.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy M31s has a polycarbonate outer shell with a textured finish that looks elegant.

The phone feels very light in hand considering the battery size and thanks to its rounded corners, it feels very lightweight and easy to hold in one hand.

This phone comes with minimal bezels on all four sides and offers an immersive visual experience with its notch display.

Overall the quality of construction is very good and is on par with its competitors.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy M31s features a 6.5-inch super AMOLED display with an infinity U notch at the top.

This full HD+ display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and has a pixel density of about 405 ppi which renders the screen very sharp and clear output.

Samsung is the best OLED manufacturer in the world and the quality of this AMOLED display justifies that claims effortlessly.

This smartphone has an 86.1% screen to body ratio and supports L1 wide wine certification which lets you watch online streaming services in full HD resolution.

Processor and Performance

The Galaxy M31s is powered by the Samsung Exynos 9611 octa-core processor supplemented by the Mali-G72 GPU.

With the integrated 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, this device performs excellent when it comes to multitasking and gaming.

Whether it be PUBG or Free Fire, this budget Android smartphone from Samsung will let you play it in full HD resolution without any dropped frames or lags.

The latest Android 10.0 Q OS with Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top is very well optimized for performance improvements when compared to the previous iterations.

Camera

This smartphone comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear. Yes, a quad camera under sub. Rs.20,000, that too from Samsung.

The primary camera on the rear is a 64MP shooter with an aperture size of f/1.8 for better low light performance.

The secondary sensor is a 12MP ultrawide shooter, which is one of a kind in this price bracket.

The third one is a 5MP depth sensor for high-quality portrait and bokeh mode photos followed by a 5MP macro mode sensor for closeup photography.

These cameras deliver detailed and colour accurate stills and videos in good lighting conditions.

The front camera is a 32MP sensor with HDR support for wide-angle selfie shots.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy M31s is powered by a whopping 6000mAh Li-ion battery which is rated to last for up to two days of heavy usage.

Samsung does include a 25W fast charger in the box which will let you charge this device in under 2 hours.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M31s is the most feature-packed Android smartphone with the best battery life, priced under Rs.20,000.

With its AMOLED display, triple camera setup, and 6000mAh battery, this smartphone is difficult to pass up in this price bracket.

Pros

Side-mounted fingerprint scanner

Massive battery life

Decent rear camera

Cons

Heavy

After having a huge success with the M-series the South Korean tech giant has rolled out its F-series which includes budget to premium mid-range smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy F22 comes with the entry-level specification and is excellent for regular use.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy F22 has a polycarbonate back with a textured finish that feels good in hands and curved sides provide a tight grip.

Looks like we are going to see this design for the next 6-months, because if you compare it to Galaxy F62, and the design of the M32 is almost the same with minor changes here and there.

Thankfully, Samsung has provided a USB-C port as well as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on this smartphone.

The Galaxy F22 weighs quite heavy and using it with a single hand for a long time is not ideal.

The speaker sound output is decent and we recommend using the wired earphones for the best auditory experience as this smartphone has an audio jack.

Pulling out the SIM tray, there are slots for dual nano-SIM cards and a dedicated slot for memory cards.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy F22 features a 6.4-inch 90Hz HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

The HD+ display sure feels like a cost-cutting but considering that smooth refresh rate and an OLED panel we don’t think that for the asking price it’s a deal-breaker by any means.

The colour reproduction of this sAMOLED panel is vivid and punchy. The blacks are completely dark and every visual on the display will look sharp.

The smooth refresh rate provides a jitter-free user experience and once you get used to 90Hz there’s no way you are going to 60Hz.

The display has a maximum brightness of 600 nits which is adequate for indoor and outdoor use.

Processor and Performance

The CPU inside the Samsung Galaxy F22 is the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC designed on 12-nm architecture.

This G-series CPU coupled with the 4GB RAM offers good performance in everyday use. Be it multitasking or casual gaming, you will not face any lag or stutter.

The 64GB internal storage of this phone lets you store your photos, videos, and documents.

Speaking of the OS, the device comes pre-installed with the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 OS.

This UI sure has no ads but the pre-installed apps of Samsung do send you some marketing notifications which you can disable from each respective application or if you don’t like the app you can disable it and many of them come with the option of uninstalling.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy F22 has a quad-camera setup at the back that includes a 48MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

The main camera takes good photos in daylight. The photos have good colour reproduction, details, and dynamic range.

To be specific, we like the colour reproduction a lot considering the price.

Moving to the ultrawide lens, it is good for taking group photos. The detailing is enough but a little improvement in sharpness is required.

There are plenty of camera features which you can use to enhance the quality of photos.

The depth sensor works fine and you can use it to take good portrait photos.

In the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera that takes decent-quality photos. The major issue is in the dynamic range and skin tone looks unnatural in lighting conditions.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy F22 is powered by a 6000mAh lithium-polymer battery offering a power backup for almost up to 2 days with a single charge.

The 15W bundled charger takes almost 3 hours to juice up the battery from 0 – 100%.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy F22 is an entry-level smartphone designed for budget-conscious buyers who need a device for regular use.

At the price of Rs.12,499, you will get a high-quality OLED display, a decent processor, and a mammoth battery life.
